Opaque in the center of an inch pour with a lighter red outer ring. The nose is invitingly perfumed and fruity. The sip is smoothly textured and buoyed by ample acidity and tannin. The swallow coats the mouth and features a delicious boysenberry and black cherry fruit. Impressively walks a tightrope between being powerful and elegant. A wine that keeps you coming back for more that is so enjoyable both by itself and with most every food. |

It reflects it's oak well, has a nice range of flavors from lemony mineral to creamy mineral with tropicals, spice and nuts available to the wine maker to play with. This particular wine was lemon focused with just enough minerality and mouth feel to make it interesting. I was walking past the winery's vineyards on the Camino and had to had to track a few bottles down in the nearby town. |
