Red and dark fruit, cherry, prune, a meaty aspect, light chocolate, coffee, tobacco, and spices, with medium-level acidity, partly resolved tannin, and good length. Medium-bodied, slightly raisiny and lightly drying but smoothly textured and well-balanced on day one. Lighter-bodied and very integrated on days two and three, with no signs of dryness. Drink now with aeration, or over the next ten years. Good value! |

6/27/2018 - pdbender wrote: NRAlthough this wine seems "over the hill", it still retains several important characteristics inherent to a good wine. It has a "classic " nose with important dark berry, cassis and dark fruit nuances. I think I should have opened it earlier, but considering the circumstances, I think this wine is holding up well. Drink up!! |

I didn't place it at first, but as soon as I read those notes, I concurred, really spicy, strong fig flavors dominate. Once my palate adjusted, it wasn't too bad, but still on something I'd won't be revisiting. |
