On the occasion of a 60th birthday celebration and surprisingly this wine continues to taste fresh and vibrant. Served quite cold so subdued on the nose with honey and apricot - but super weight and refined taste; apricot, pineapple, with real clarity and balance.

Four years since I tasted this vintage, and real changes, all for the good - familiar golden brown colour, with intense apricot, honey on the nose. To taste there’s extra weight and depth - apricot, pineapple, papaya? What’s amazing in a way is that this all tastes so fresh and clean given the big flavours. The taste goes on and on. Superb

Chenin blanc dessert
50 botritis, 50 late harvest
Nice deep gold colour, high viscosity.
Apricot and quince dominate on the nose.
Oily texture, mostly fruits on the palate. I miss the very high and structured acidity You get in a high-end Tokaji Aszú.
Some lovely, nice stone fruit seeds on the palate as well.

Tasted on 26/02/2024
Used oak ageing
Pale straw, lovely honey, beeswax, ripe peach on the nose.
On the palate: med+ to high acidity, feels a bet sweet: lemon tart, overripe peach.
Medium length, not overly complex, lovely entry wine if you like piercing acidity.
For its quality it's expensive imo. (almost 20eur)

The first of three bottles.
slightly golden hue but not very pronounced for a dessert wine with 38 years of age.
Really nice balance with pronounced acidity, some botrytis aspects and laser sharp aromas spanning from savory to fruity to honey.
Delicious now!

Euchre night (R&D's): Half bottle. Light golden color with notes of pear liqueur, violet and apricot. Abundant fruit with bright acidity gives a freshness to the palate. Pear nectar and peach flavors with a nice finish. The acidity cut the richness of D's brownie cheesecake dessert. Chenin blanc makes such wonderful sweet wines. (R&D)

First of four bottles.
Slightly low fill, cork barely holding up.
Slightly golden hue, but not enough to suggest oxidation or botrytis; just a little age...This is a 38 year old dry white wine after all.
Very fresh, lively nose with floral, melon and savory notes; not what you would expect for a white wine of this age from a simple Anjou appellation...
I believe this was a cool vintage and the balance of this wine certainly suggests this. This wine is mostly kept alive by the acidity and the palate lacks textural richness and even suggests a little bitterness, but still very impressive.
Not likely to evolve much, just hold on..

This 15 year old half bottle has a light amber red tinged color, which neither looks nor smells particularly oxidized. The mouth entry is creamy, caressing, juicy, and nutty. But most importantly, the considerable sweetness is well balanced by cleansing acidity, which keeps the wine from ever becoming cloying. Delicious with a wide range of desserts, including creme brulee, chocolate, biscotti, and glazed fruits. Keeps well for weeks corked in the refrigerator.

Good balance and ripe yellow fruit. From my past experience this wine has sometimes required a few years of cellaring on release. The 2019 should certainly age well but I am pleased to find this so accessible already.

Quite a different smell for this bottle - quite sweet, almost raisin-ey smell reflected when tasting - enough acidic cut through for an a refreshing end taste, but not quite as balanced as the last bottles.

Ten years ago I said this would last a long time, and it has. It has barely evolved since then with waxy sweet apples and a decent amount of botrytis. Classic sweet chenin. I doubt it will have changed much in another decade.

A nice ruby color to this Cab Franc. On the nose: raspberry puree, red fruit, and some astringency. On the palate: plumb, blackberry, blueberry, and a slight bit of leather. The body is medium. Finish is medium, and bit tannic.

Altogether, the balance of this wine is pretty spot on. While I enjoyed it more with a seasoned steak, it still held it's own later in the evening after dinner. The wine became more tannic as the evening went on, so if you like that tanin "suck" in your mouth, serve at room temp. If you prefer the more balanced flavors and aromas like I do, I would serve it at ~60F/15.5c.

Piercing and steely, with medium(+) acid. Green notes stood out on this one: hay, fern, and herbs were cited by many in the tasting group; one noted quinine and minerals. Dry. Many really liked this one.

Deep lemon. Very floral nose of pear and passion fruit. On the palate dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, full body, pronounced notes of passion fruit and lemon on the long finish. A bit too astringent for my taste but well made. Very good.
