ENGLISH:
Nose: Beautiful exotic fruit with clear pineapple and mango, lemongrass and some lime, not too acidic on the nose, elegant but not weak, lemongrass

Taste: Similar to the nose, a nice balance of acidity, fresh and crisp, but not overly acidic, pineapple, some green mango, pear, some lime zest and lemongrass, silky-light body, but aromatic

Comment: Spanish white as I like it, could almost have a little less acidity for me, but a dream with fresh fish with tropical sauce.

ORGINAL (GERMAN):
Nose: Schöne exotische Frucht mit deutlicher Ananas und Mango, Zitronengras und etwas Limette, dabei nicht zu säuerlich in der Nase, elegant, aber nicht schwach, Zitronengras

Taste: Ähnlich wie in der Nase eine schöne Säurebalance, frisch knackig, aber nicht übertrieben säuerlich, Ananas, etwas grüne Mango, Birne, etwas Limettenschale und Zitronengras, seidig-leichter Körper, aber aromatisch

Comment: Spanischer Weißer wie ich ihn mag, könnte für mich fast noch etwas weniger Säure haben, aber Traum zu frischem Fisch mit tropischer Soße.

Bright gold hue. Nose: restrained, with apricots, tropical fruits and floral notes. A medium bodied palate, mouth feel is a bit viscous (due to the Viognier I guess). Nice harmony, decent finish. My lowish score is only because I am not a fan of this blend / style. Probably a year or so past its best drinking window as well I think.

Great value. Nice variation in fruit profile (raspberry, sour cherry, plum), some black pepper and roasted meat notes, and creaminess and spice from the oak.

A powerful, organically farmed Costers del Segre wine, a blend of Garnatxa Negra, Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for nine months in French oak barrels followed by a further refinement in bottle for fifteen months. Decanted: one hour prior to tasting. Color: deep dark red. Bouquet: notes of violets, sour cherry, kirsch liqueur, licorice and a hint of cocoa and rosemary. On the palate: a well-balanced and already accessible wine dominated by juicy bramble and plum fruit, with a good complexity and depth and present but well-behaved tannins. Finish: serious spicy aftertaste. Optimal enjoyment: now until 2026.

Een krachtige, biologisch geteelde Costers del Segre-wijn, een blend van Garnatxa Negra, Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) en Cabernet Sauvignon. Rijping: negen maanden in Franse eiken vaten met aansluitend nog een verdere verfijning op fles gedurende vijftien maanden. Gedecanteerd: één uur voor consumptie. Kleur: diep donkerrood. Bouquet: aroma’s van viooltjes, zure kers, kirsch, zoethout en een vleugje cacao en rozemarijn. In de mond: een mooi uitgebalanceerde en al goed toegankelijke wijn gedomineerd door sappig bramen- en pruimenfruit, met een goede complexiteit en dito diepgang en presente maar vrij goed versmolten tannines. Finale: serieuze kruidige afdronk. Optimaal drinkgenot: nu tot 2026.

Fragrant lemon and mineral aromas showing piercing notes of citrus peel, melon and stone fruit. A nice backbone of acidity and minerals lingers on a medium long finish.

Crisp, tasty. Good fruit flavors from the viognier and chardonnay. Not a great pairing with anything I tried: boursin cheese, curried cashews, plain cashews, almonds, Indian potato salad with chick peas, corn, curry, cilantro but tasty on its own.

This was from Crystal’s Palace in Norfolk, VA. Sue would like to find some more.

Silky texture, ripe black fruits, dried herbs
Medium+ dusty tannins that hit in the back palate. This is great to drink now, but would be improved by a decant or even more a few more years if bottle age

A very pleasant wine - perfect as an aperitif or with a light dish.
Lifted floral aromas of blossom and white flowers, couples with intense wet stone and minerality; lemony aromas
Mid-weight on palate with rich, chard-like texture
Although dry, the fruit on the palate coupled with the medium acidity gives the initial impression of very subtle, mild sweetness
Medium alcohol
Ready to drink now and over the next year or year and a half. No need for further ageing.
Drank this with Chinese dumplings

The full-bodied palate offers generous red and black fruits, a velvety texture and quite smooth tannins. Serious aftertaste with some peppery notes. Good potential. Drinking window: now–2024.
