Medium bodied and moderate alcohol. Red fruits, subtle spice and oak and very fragrant - no surprise with the Viognier in the blend. Great harmony. Needs another 2+ years to hit its straps. A good one for someone who says the Hunter Valley can't produce great Shiraz.

Still lacks some balance for me - a bit heavy on tannin. Still showing lots of dark fruits.

2006 Clarendon Hills Syrah Brookman

Appearance: Dark with pronounced bricking. Nose: intense - blueberries, blackberries, liquorice, oak and mint.
Palate: full- bodied. Rich tannins. Big but balance is good but won't be everyone's style. I like it with this age under its belt.
