Medium lemon colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, charred wood and wet stone. Medium taste of ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, butter, toast, charred wood and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Haute Cotes de Nuits Blanc from a magnum bottle. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with fish or shellfish.

Good depth of red and blue fruits with toasted spices, earth and sweet licorice. Palate is rich and extended. Much more elegant and balanced for such a young Gevrey-Chambertin. Almost medium-bodied in the open structure. Finish is clean with supple fruits. An hour of decanting is essential for the fine aromatics to surface.

[Bought in Beaune last week, but due to Paris traffic, colleagues could not find time to try there, so opened in Boston. :-)]

Very pretty nose, easily the same set of aromatics and tastes in mouth, comes across as a wine from sites with elegance and attractiveness, similar to Felettig's NSG. Quietly gorgeous at a villages level. You could drink this all night long, like an analog of the best session beer you ever had. Sophisticated, layered, long .. and a wine that just keeps delivering. Wish I had mags. Woof.

Codicil, half glass next afternoon. Lovely fruit, held up nicely. Delightful!

Earthy, sois-bois nose with some dark berry notes. Fat black plum palate with tea, hibiscus, and cinnamon quickly transitions to medium tannins, lot of earth, and more sois-bois notes. Has some depth to it.

Opened at the 10 Cases in London. P&P and enjoyed slowly.

I chose this as an experiment: I wanted to see how 2005 reds were performing. I was quite happy with this actually, in a good spot right now where it's starting to be a bit more expressive, still fresh, and not going downhill just yet. You can tell the density of the vintage, but this was drinking well.

Probably start drinking up if you have these - I don't think they're made for the long haul from here. Unlikely to have upside either, but I was happy with it and it served its purpose as good opening act.

Red and blue berry scents introduce a pliant wine that needs to develop more depth, and framed by a fiery tannic structure, ending with grip. The grumpy tannins which have started to mellow from last year, have lost some dryness, which is a good sign, and this wine still needs 5 years in the cellar to be ready.

One of my go-to Bourgogne rouge from 45-year-old vines from Morey Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. As expected, it does have that slight sauvage note on the nose at the beginning, which blows off quickly, turning more earthy, with an underlying red fruit flavour. On the palate, it's much more delicate than I expected, given the vintage. Medium acidity and soft tannins.

Approachable from the start but a subtle wine even with time. Soft red fruit, damp earth and mineral. Probably needs a few years to do really anything depth wise.

Very good again (see my previous note from 2013)
In a "middle phase" now, not as outspoken and "wow" as last time I had this, but a very pure and intriguing wine.
Spices, perfumed flowers, dust, clean red fine fruit.
Great length and a lovely finish.
Pure and airy, still with power and depth - a wine with an address.
Will revisit and looking forward to open my next bottle in 2024 - ish?

Very dark red color. The nose is quite complex, with red and dark fruit, and a very gamy character. The is dense and powerful on the palate, Grand Cru quality indeed, with great structure and balance. Very long finish. Nice.

Krautige Nase, frisch, würzig, sehr Pinot Noir, sehr Gevrey, dezente funky, komplex, Hagebutten, krautige Noten, Herbstlaub.

David Duband - whether it be through his work with Francois Feuillet (notably in Aux Thorey) or on his namesake domaine - is one of the producers in Burgundy I’ve come to enjoy village-level options from based on how lean and clean the wines tend to be. In typical David Duband fashion, the nose on this wine was immediately expressive, giving off florality through a notable rose scent alongside ripe strawberries and hints of light spices. The palate, though, could do with a bit more time (1-2 years) to integrate and create more balance. The upfront boasts lots of great ripe red berries and a robust black cherry note before the mid-palate feels a bit jumbled (hence the thought on integration) with contrasting notes of chocolate, jam and licorice creating tension. The finish was powerful, yet silky, introducing a dominating oak note as well as hints of graphite and herbaceousness across some grippy tannins and a smidge of astringency (that began to settle as the bottle opened up). Giving this a 90 right now, but definitely see upside once everything comes together.

Odd,

Still like the 2011 it needs aeration to regain some fruit after the poo smell, musk

Mint and eucalypt show a bit after a ;little air

Grippy palate, with tannins and tightness in mid palate... med length, and fruit. It's probably the most appealing of the three tasted today from that producer.

Sweet finish

Would rate 90+

Kept it on purpose

Nose both fruity and tertiary, forrest floor dominating the old ripe fruits,

Driven acidity giving the wine length and depth, and lifting up the tannins, quite good and long... hard to rate as I m not fan of old burgundy usually, and the age suits more Bordeaux Blends, Syrah or Tempranillo, but one might admit the wine is long and complex and shows a lot of tertiary and complex aromas.

It's surely not dead... Some might give it a 91/2 in the style

NR, confusing wine, a bit old and still quite long and complex...

A bit poo on the nose,

Old ripe fruits, a bit tertiary at the same time, bramble and cassis

Fresh and vibrant, a bit thin on the palate but the wine held well so far... tannins are well integrated and polished. Pretty good length

Bought on release, #1 of 3. sound cork. stored professionally. // nice red > black fruits, clearly... not identifed by me as a Nuits St-Georges given the Vosne-Romanee overtones. I like this wine a lot ... noting it doesnt have immensely Vosne spice, nor Nuits iron minerality or the sauvage elements of a Vaucrains. Delicious and don't hesitate to open a bottle. It fooled me but who cares, excellent showing tonight. True to this style of Nuits. n.b. held up well overnight, had a glass ~ 24 after note written, no deterioration

Gorgeous nose: restrained confit strawberries and cherries with discreetly stemmy spice and tea.
Lovely pure fruit on the palate buffered by fresh acidity and an attractive sappy quality common to Duband/Feuillet wines. Medium-bodied, nice intensity.
