Very dark ruby in color. Lots of delicious spice jumps from the glass.... pepper, tobacco, mint, slate with really juicy red fruits. Dark cherry, plum and slight hints of cassis. Very tasty. But there's a slight green streak on the finish that detracts from, what is generally, a very delicious wine. Grade: B+ |

This has mellowed out with time. My tastes have definitely shifted from wines like these, but good for what it is. A solid weeknight wine with no fuss. |

A deep garnet color, this wine was showing a touch of age. On the nose we got blueberry, tobacco, licorice, loads of black cherry, some funk and oak influence by way of smoke, creosote, vanilla, charcoal, chocolate and cedar- our tasting group is that sensitive! |

Sweet juicy raspberry, cassis, blackberry, spice. New world fruit with that "Portuguese spice". Equal parts (25%) of: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Touriga Nacional. I really enjoyed this. This isn't the wine you would drink if you're looking for a sense of place. But this is delicious. Grade: A |

Usually I try to stay clear of the "international varietals" in Portugal, preferring the regional grapes. But I do enjoy a good viognier, and one with 6 years of age? I had to try it. And boy oh boy, am I glad I did. This was great. Notes of peach, honeysuckle and hints of sweet nectar. There's also hints of oak and tar from the barrel aging. I love this. Grade: A |
