12/14/2022 - John4 Likes this wine: 93 pointsReally enjoyed this bottle (2nd of 3 bottles) with pork ribs and roasted potatoes. Opened with a shy but beautiful nose of tobacco and dark fruit. Great mid pallet good dark fruit again. The finish is really the best part. It just goes on forever and begs for another sip. |

The lightest in this flight with a deep inky crimson color and aromas of herbs, black fruit, chocolate and cassis. Full-bodied. Black fruit dominates the palate, with chocolate, cherry and spice notes mixed in. Balanced. Has a plushness to it that I like. Made by Bob Foley. (P&A) |

11/11/2020 - mflesh wrote: NRAlmost 5 years ago, I hit this one right on the dot when it comes to drinking window. This definitely has turned darker and displaying a little more black tar and smoke with tobacco on the front. Any expectations for that sweet blackberry fruit "Napa cab" will be crushed here. This bottle differed from the last in the fact that it had a little bit of an identity crisis getting started. Had more of a meaty characteristic that took about 30 minutes for that to blow off. This wine seemed to drop a lot more sediment than the last bottle yet finished a bit sweeter than it started, and the tannin is a finer grit, partially toasted but mostly stiff oak type of influence. Glad that I decided to pull the trigger on this one, as I have a feeling I would be disappointed in this one if I had waited until this point next year or 2022+. Although the fans of your mushroom and tertiary notes will probably not be disappointed with this one in 21 and 22, it is ready to go now for those who like the balance between youthful dark fruit exuberance and older charm. |

7/22/2020 - dpolzien Likes this wine: 93 pointsNeeded 3 hours in the decanter to calm the tannins down, but once they did, gobs of blue/black fruit came out to play. Standouts for me were a very long finish and mesmerizing color in the glass, which was somewhere right at the intersection of blood red and purple. Held up just fine on day 2. Easily 5+ years ahead, but really in a great spot right now, so don't hesitate to give it a try with a proper decant. |

10/28/2017 - drinknick31 Likes this wine: 98 pointsA hidden Gem from wine maker Bob Foley. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity. |

2/26/2017 - SpeedyPete Likes this wine: 95 pointsPoured a glass with Coravin. Started out a little tight, but opened up beautifully over two hours. Medium ruby color w/ long, slow tears. Great intensity on the nose with black cherry, dried fig, light toast and cocoa. Nice balance w/ good acid that bodes well for aging over many years. Ready to drink now-smoother than many mountain cabs at 5 years old. |

2/19/2017 - tadink wrote: 96 pointsThe 2011 vintage has a bad rep, however I've had many wines from that vintage that are wonderful. The cool weather gives them a more French feeling - not as ripe at harvest means lower alcohol levels. Very interesting and subtle for a mountain CAB, but wonderful and typical of the Bob Foley style for Dos Lagos - albeit a bit restrained compared to other vintages. |
