4/23/2024 - SubEtherBASS Likes this wine: 92 pointsAs always, my rating is the average rating, plus a few percent, as it was rather enjoyable overall, specially for a Shiraz. It did have a good chance to breathe before I had a glass, which I'm sure is a positive. |

The screw cap takes away the romanticism of opening a nice bottle of wine… but long enough experience to know what counts is in the bottle and I’ll keep buying this great Shiraz for now and for the cellar years later… |

3/31/2024 - Jeremy Holmes wrote: NRA huge nose of ripe cassis, smoke, tobacco and leather. Creamy and rich, with explosive dark fruits in the mouth. Some vanilla spice and lovely weight and glossy mouthfeel. A big wine but not excessive and has great length carried by ripe tannins. |

3/20/2024 - cono_sur Likes this wine: 90 pointsScrew cap. Fragrant and intensely aromatic with rich, intriguing, and complex aromas that feature butter, nutty oak, flinty mineral, lemon curd, ripe apple, and citrus notes. It's dry, medium-full bodied and creamy on the palate with gently tart and tangy flavours that give way to butter, vanilla, nutty oak, gentle spice, apple, and citrus. It has fresh, lively acidity, plus some saline characters on the mid-palate, while leesy mineral, subtle spice, nut, and oak notes linger on the long, succulent finish. Score: 90+ pts |

3/27/2024 - wren460 Does not like this wine: 84 pointsTasted blind with other wines from the mid 2000s. After tasting this wine many times this was my last bottle and definitely the worst experience. This hedonistic bombastic wines are ment to be consumed early, this are not Bordeaux and with a few years are definitely ready. The wine extremely boring and with lots of that burnt rubber tire smell that I dislike. This wine with 5 years of cellar time had enough, but almost 20 years is just way too much |

Low/medium powdery tannin, gentle oak, medium/full weight. Good heft on the front and mid-palate, medium length finish that’s rich and ripe but not overdone. CD$36, AK$19 |

2/29/2024 - DrinkerTrev Likes this wine: 94 pointsGreat Cabernet Sauvignon . Now 20 year old wine. Cork was perfect. Light acid. Plum flavours on initial palate. Deep rich red colour. A perfect wine with my home cooked Steak Diane I made tonight. No old wine tastes. This wine is at its peak and will remain for another 10 years. I bought a dozen 8 years ago and this is my first bottle. Amazing wine and I will drink a bottle each year for the next 10 or so years. |

3/14/2024 - prism wrote: 94 pointsSlow Od for an hour and a half; decanted for three. As good as ever; will not improve. Rich, dark, thick purple-red. Barossa does this style very well. Slightly reminiscent of root beer in its complex sweetness, though more layered and interesting. Not subtle, packed with fruit, evoking dark chocolate (without actually being chocolatey.) My last of six, and the final Australian in my cellar. |

12/18/2009 - MicklethePickle Likes this wine: 93 pointsSingle-blind tasting with Hiroko at Vintage Wines in San Diego. Good legs. Nice color. Looks like it has a Cabernet/Merlot base. Nose very elegant. Coconut. Like a Cabernet/Merlot blend. Palate is great. A beauty. I say (and so does Hiroko) that this is a Napa Cabernet. 93/100. |

2/18/2024 - AlphaMikeFoxtrot Likes this wine: 91 pointsCooked blueberries/blueberry jam, raspberry jame, menthol, fresh mint, eucalyptus, dust, dirt, coffee grounds and a little oxidation on the nose. Smells a little oaky; but actually more just woodsy. A LOT of organic earth. Medium + intensity of aromas. The palate is pretty similar, adding green bell pepper, caramelized onions, cumin and bitter herbs. A lot of mint and eucalyptus toward the end of the palate. A bit lifted on the finish, which lasts for 30 seconds. |

Australia hasn’t been my go to for about a decade. Very impressed with the quality. My first sip was within 5 minutes of opening. |

2/10/2024 - Condrieu82 Likes this wine: 97 pointsI opened the bottle and let it breathe for one hour. Nice ruby color with minimal bricking. Nose is great with plums, blackberries, pout poured, lavender. Zippy acidity, medium/chalky tannins, lots of black fruits - ripe plums, blackberries - dried flowers and coffee grounds then come out to give this depth and complexity. The ending is long, with oak, white pepper, and lingering black fruits flavors. This is stunning, in a great spot now and probably at peak, although there is no rush and it will perhaps even further improve in the next 3-4 years. |

2/2/2024 - Evanbdavis Likes this wine: 95 pointsA beautiful wine. Deep, rich and complex with all of the classic Barossa Shiraz character you could want. Blackberry sauce, Mulberry, Black Licorice, Sweet Mint, and some pretty purple flowers. There is a touch of restraint here that I find extremely appealing and the fruit deftly manages to tamp down the alcohol. Everything in balance. Though definitely robust and unctuous, the wine does not lose its focus and the flavors have great clarity on the palate. |

12/28/2023 - angelcyn Does not like this wine: NRSecond bottle, no change from the first, as before a confection and not a good one, very poor for a winery with such a reputation, third bottle has gone to a 'good home' someone who alleges to like this style, we shall see! |
