Deep texture on the palate with brisk acidity and pure fruit flavors (strawberries, raspberries, white cherries). The non-fruit complexities really make this wine sing, and I get notes of mint, wildflowers, chalk dust, limestone, some green tea. Complex and rich but crushably delicious, too. |

The aromas sport tangy red cherries, red apple peel, wild raspberries, mixed with complex tones of dandelion, white pepper, celery seed, some orange zest in there as well. Crisp and punchy on the palate with zesty acidity, fine bubbles, and a nice textural depth. The flavors of crunchy red apples, raspberries, and cherries blend well with notes of minerals, talc, white pepper, dried roses. Pure fun but also packed with complexity. Crowd-pleasing and should be a hit with wine nerd crowds, too. Don’t let the twist cap fool you, this is good stuff. |

5/5/2024 - bludens Likes this wine: 93 pointsI always thought coming from Paso Robles that the CDP moniker might be a nod to Châteauneuf-du-Pape as I find the Rhone region and Paso Robles to grow similar grapes but in their own unique style. I was told while on a visit to the winery that CDP is a reference to the grapes and not a region. That may be, but this still has all the character of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a bit more of that California fruit forward style. This did not disappoint. I'm sipping as I type and the finish is still...not finished. Always happy to drink this wine when I can. |

Primarily a Grenache based wine, it is well crafted with good body and lovely dark fruit flavors of black cherries, plums, and blackberries. The finish is smooth. An excellent example of the fine Rhone Valley style wines now available in Central California. |
