2005 Hangtime Cellars Pinot Noir Bourgognemore |

Couldn't identify it as Pinot but couldn't say it wasn't either. Shows some balancing acids but not strongly. It's just red wine. Is it a value for $3? Hard to say. I'm not buying anymore since there was nothing to make me want more. But there is certainly nothing flawed about this wine or that stands out as being a big negative either. |

The palate is of tart cherries and maybe a hint of fig, which is what I've come to expect from low end Pinot Noir. This wine is definitely not worth the $15 tag. There are amazing wines to be had at that price point and this fell very short. |

The second day, there was a chill left from the over-night in the fridge. Today, it resembled an average Beaujolais, which is a good thing (at least better than yesterday). |

What a disappointing French Pinot Noir. The problem I have with wines like this, is that somebody might be turned off to the varietal in general after experimenting with this one. Avoid like the plague at any price. |

9/3/2008 - Capt M wrote: 85 pointsLight golden color. Very buttery on the nose. It is almost all you can sense on the nose, with very subtle lemongrass, tangerine nuances. This is a full bodied chardonnay with a respectable oak influence, or maybe a little bit too much. Fruit, oak, and acidity are a little bit all over the place; a little bit disjointed. Unfortunately, I'm not pairing this wine with a dish at the moment, but all in all, I bet it would come together fairly well. I did used it to boost a mushroom risotto that I'm cooking, and I bet that it gave it some good character. I suspect that the fruit that lies under that bed of oak is pretty good quality and enjoyable. |

Overall, a little watery and not much of a finish, but its drinkable and has a nice berry/acid balance. As long as you don't set your expectations too high you can't be too disappointed with a $13 wine. |
