Some gamey, earthy characteristics that I love in good Pinot are emerging with enough red fruit to balance those flavors. Mild, supple tannins and we paired with a mild pasta with good results. Would drink within the next two years for my taste. 2 hour slow ox prior to serving--tasted along the way and no real change after the first 0.5-1h. |

9/7/2023 - pmarlo Likes this wine: 90 pointsOpened this pretty early as reviews were not indicative of good wine even though Kanzler is great site. Composite cork. Pretty high toned fruit. Good bouquet. Some bite. Alcohol or tannins? My impression is alcohol. Medium burgundy colored and can see through wine to other side of glass. More like a Martinelli. But next day was stomach sick and wine was among the possible suspects. Tried again cautiously a few days later and corked popped. Was either still yeast present and continued fermentation or per web query bacteria. Did not try again for about a week and cork didn't pop. Had rest of the wine and no side effects. Expected wine opened about two weeks would have gone skunky but was at its best. It had softened but not lost fruit, became more in balanced, and pretty decent. |

Night two shows lingering hints of lemon verbena and dried oregano. |
