2013 Carraia Aglianico Beneventano IGTmore |
2/15/2016 - Vino_Divine Likes this wine: 87 pointsStraightforward, tasty and very well put together for 10$. Dark fruit, graphite and light spice. Juicy and refreshing with a reasonably polished tannin. Great Value! |

2010 Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Four WindsMcMinnville more |
2/20/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 91 pointsNice stuff from McMinville. This wine always has a much deeper purple tinge than the other offerings. High-toned floral nose with lots of rich raspberry, black tea, and maduro tobacco. Very spicy palate with peppercorn, tobacco, and wet stone with ample dark fruit to support. Finishes with an elegant texture. |

2010 Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Estate Old Vine Ribbon Ridgemore |
2/20/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 90 points2010 is a very different vintage coming on the heels of 2009 and 2008. Think back to 2007, tricky, wet, late and that was the story Jim Anderson related regarding 2010. I like the style of his Pinot and feel that they benefit particularly in cooler or leaner years. Aromas are bright and high-toned, cherry and pomegranate with lots of minerallic freshness highlighted with beef broth and bramble. Fruit is wild on the palate lots of raspberry with a cranberry tone, beef tallow and roasted cocoa on the medium finish. Patricia Green wines always benefit from time in the bottle, 2 years is good, 5 is ideal for high quality vintages. |

2010 Palazzo Cuvée BlancNapa Valley Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend more |
2/14/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 91 points85% Semillon 15% Sauvignon Blanc . Electric aromas that leap out of the glass, very tropical bouquet with fresh herb accent. Juicy, refreshing style with a surprisingly light touch. This should really come together by the time it is hot out, maybe 3 months or so. |

2008 St. Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs VineyardWillamette Valley more |
2/14/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 82 pointsStarting to fall apart a bit. Tarry nose of spearmint, herbs and nectarine. Palate is okay, minty herbs with notes of citrus and peach. |

2/14/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 83 pointsChardonnay, SB, and Torrontes. Weird blend... Nutty aromas remind me of Play-Doh. Mellow palate with some peach and melon, disjointed and slightly oxidized. |

2008 Soter Pinot Noir Mineral Springs (White Label)Yamhill-Carlton more |
2/13/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 90 pointsI like this, but feel the "Mineral Springs Ranch" version is a better value. It seems here there is a compulsion to have a more extracted style as the crown jewel. Personally I would have preferred to see this fruit add dimension to the Ranch bottling, rather than be bottled in this heavy style. Perhaps it is just the concentrated character of 2008, but there are some roasted cocoa and espresso notes that dont quite jive with the otherwise delicate profile of cherry and strawberry. |

2009 Soter Pinot Noir Mineral Springs RanchYamhill-Carlton more |
2/13/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 90 pointsJames Gago's light hand in the winemaking is very apparent here. Macerated strawberry aromas are ripe and inviting with notes of cola spice and mesquite adding complexity. Flavors are very strawberry with a smokiness and brambly bass note, light on its feet but a heavy mineral content from the Marine Sedimentary soil of Mineral Springs vineyard keep the finish mouthwatering and long. |

2009 North Valley Vineyards Pinot Noir Willamette Valleymore |
2/13/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 89 pointsYouthful, spritely aromas with an underlying grapey-ness to fresh crushed berries and floral tones, nice spice accent but not overtly oak-y. Palate is juicy with a nice buoyancy to mid weight candied fruit flavors, soft finish lets you down easy but doesn't leave you hanging. |

2009 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg BourgognePinot Noir more |
2/1/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 90 pointsYum. Very lifted aromas, floral inflection with dark cherry raspberry notes accented with cola and spice. Palate is pillowy - the Mugneret sisters feminine influence is very apparent - Ripe strawberry and raspberry are persistent through the finish. On the journey you will encounter forest floor, beef broth and clove notes. Tannins are youthful but very refined. This wine may go "dumb" soon so pop a few bottles before this baby clams up. |

2010 Domaine de Noiré Chinon Soif de TendresseCabernet Franc more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 86 pointsThis wine has never impressed me, even though I like the Elegance and Charactre from Noire. Shrill nose of bell pepper, pine needles, tar, tobacco, and roasted plum; easily identifiable as Cab F from Loire. Juicy palate with with dark fruit flavors dominated by twangy high toned herbaceous flavors, more bell pepper, pine needle. Okay if you like a rough cab franc |

2010 Domaine Jean Fournier BourgognePinot Noir more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 91 pointsThis puppy is rockin' right out of the gate! Just off the container this week, too. Inviting nose of bacon fat, floral perfume, and lots of fresh berries. Palate is creamy, raspberry-strawberry-cherry flavors have richness and lots of cut. Fleshy, and vibrant with mustard seed and a touch of smoke adding nuance the long minerallic finish. |

2000 Domaine La Tour Boisée Minervois Château Tour Boisée Jardin secret a Marie-ClaudeRed Blend more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 92 pointsWhat cho know about Jardin Secret? I have loved Tour Boisee wines for a long time, they are reasonably priced and age great, but I have never had this. This bottle was hand carried from France by one of our importers. Delicious stuff, full of life : rich and chocolate-y base notes, creamy blueberry fruit through the mid-palate and aromatics full of garrigue and freshness. Finish goes on and on, but that is likely because I keep drinking it... now it is gone, forever. |

2010 Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Berg Kaisersteinfels Riesling Alte RebenRheingau more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 93 pointsBOOM!!! That is the sound of this wine dropping flavor bombs on your tongue like its Kabul. I am speaking, of course, about 2010 Leitz Rudisheimer Berg Kaisersteinfels Terrassen, you can call it Kaisersteinfels for short. This little puppy comes from high on the hill behind Rudesheim, where the river takes a 90 degree bend. Some of the poorest ( read:best) soils are here, weathered slate and quartzite primarily. Most interesting is the QBA designate, which tickles me pink. Imagine if Guigal La Turque Cote Rotie was a Vin de Table... |

2010 Weingut Glatzer Grüner VeltlinerCarnuntum more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 87 pointsGood stuff from Carnuntum, a unique region near Vienna. Proximity to lake neusiedl makes for high moisture and hot days. The result is commonly a rounder style of wine with slightly lower acids ( that is relative to other austrian wine). Surprising then that this wine is electric with lots of zesty citrus. What lies at the core is tons of cool mint, tarragon and herbal tea flavors. Reasonably long and very complex, recommended for 12$ or so. |

2006 Weingut Familie Prieler Blaufränkisch JohanneshöheLeithaberg more |
1/31/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 88 pointsThis is drinking very well! A very elegant Blaufrankisch, from my favorite ( so far) producer of red wine in Austria. Burgundy like in it’s notes of mushroom and marrow but completely unique in its overall taste, which is driven by flavors of green olive, rich boysenberry and cocoa. Soft and medium bodied, try this with some spicy chicken! |

1/27/2012 - Vino_Divine wrote: 88 pointsDark, roasted aromas with concentrated berry sauce, wet stone, pencil lead, and tar. Big, dark and rich lots of roasted black fruits. Honestly I can't say there is much difference between this and Laughing Magpie. Solid wine in a consistently boring category. |
