12/30/2013 - geneyus Likes this wine: 92 pointsOne of the best that Saint-Joseph can produce. Raisin on the nose. Blackberry and plum tones hit at the start which rounds out with it's medium tannins coming in with wood & leathery end tones in an extended finish. Paired with Roasted Leg of Lamb in Red Wine Rosemary Jus. All-in-all a great wine! |

12/30/2013 - geneyus Likes this wine: 89 pointsA lovely floral, but not perfumy, white wine balanced by light citrus flavors enhanced by some apricot and peach notes. A well-balanced and medium bodied wine that is complex enough to drink alone just to enjoy how it plays around in your mouth ending in a moderate to long finish. It should pair well with well seasoned crustaceans and cream pastas. |

12/28/2013 - geneyus Likes this wine: 92 pointsA typical left bank Bordeaux, exactly what you expect from a 2000 and does not disappoint. Great full and round mouthfeel with a decent amount of lacey tannins. Black currant all around with surprisingly enough fruit for a 13 year old wine. Some tobacco & licorice notes at the end. Loved it a lot! I would have wanted to have decanted it for a few hours, but we were in a restaurant. Paired it with some nice Rack of Lamb in Cardamon sauce... although this wine would not have been my ideal pairing, since we had to compromise for the group, it still went quite well with my dish. |

2004 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valleymore |
3/29/2015 - geneyus Likes this wine: 91 pointsDark ruby color with purple margins. Nose is rich and deep, which you can smell more than a metre away, reminiscent of plums and blackberry jam. Dry, medium plus bodied, black currant & blackberries, with some tobacco & car leather. Medium minus tannins, quite pleasant. Medium plus finish and complexity. |

12/21/2013 - geneyus Likes this wine: 92 pointsWonderful beujolais! Drank after 5 years, and was nearly perfect. Paired it with Lechon (a Philippine Roast Pig delicacy with liver sauce), the acidity cut the fat nicely. A lot of mild cherry and other red berry notes, with some florals on the side, which paired extremely well with the slightly sweet liver sauce. Light bodied but with an excellent mouth feel, mid to long finish. I'll never enjoy lechon as much without ever again! |

10/29/2012 - geneyus wrote: 89 pointsI found this to be a well-balanced wine, medium bodied, with a good amount of mostly black fruit but softened by some cherry tones. Tannins were moderate with a long finish. I truly enjoyed this bottle, and it went well with some beef lasagna. |

12/25/2012 - geneyus wrote: 90 pointsA silky, light to medium bodied deep garnet tinted wine. Predominantly cherry and rasperry fruit with some peripheral grassy tones, a fair amount of acid and a moderate to long finish. Tasted great with some ripe St-Nectaire cheese. |

12/16/2012 - geneyus wrote: 78 pointsDisappointing considering it's a 2005 and a St-Emilion Grande Cru Classe. Almost devoid of fruit, little tannins, but were still distinct due to the imbalance. Finish was short to moderate. |

11/8/2012 - geneyus wrote: 82 pointsA decent wine for everyday drinking. Light to medium bodied, still some red fruit on the palate, but I'm thinking it should have been opened earlier to get the most out of it. Moderate finish, so all-in-all a pleasant wine to drink. |

Well balanced wine, with prominent blackberries up front twisted in the middle with dark cherries and moderate tannins, ending with spicy notes and a finish that never seems to end. Wonderful pairing with Entrecôte steak with herb-butter sauce & pommes frites. |

3/23/2012 - geneyus wrote: 94 pointsWas afraid that it was overaged, as was stated in WS & WA... but was I wrong! The nose & aroma hits you even while it is being poured, which for me is a very good sign. The wine was very balanced, scrumptious with a full & round mouth feel. Black currant with notes of chocolate & some traces of coffee. Went excellently well with some marinated US Angus Rib-Eyes... but this is a wine I can drink all night & on it's own. Wines like this, you regret opening, especially if it's your last one! |

12/24/2011 - geneyus wrote: 95 pointsThe nose on this wine was incredible as it was opened. Aroma of blackberries, spice & hints of tobacco. Scrumptious and full-bodied, complex flavors dominated by delightfully ripe black fruit and a length that lasts forever. Tannins had softened to be almost unnoticeable but adding balance to a wonderful mouthful. |

12/17/2011 - geneyus wrote: 83 pointsI'm not so used to a Syrah with such intense black fruit & spice to have very light tannins. Light to medium feel on the mouth with similar finish. It's very drinkable & I enjoyed it somewhat, but didn't impress me as much as I wanted it to. |

12/18/2011 - geneyus wrote: 88 pointsI rarely like Cabernet Franc single varietals, but this is a refreshing exception. On tasting, an initial flash of flowery notes with the mid range, a nice mouthful of red fruit with a good sized finish. Very quaffable but pairs well with well-seasoned chicken & pork dishes. Paired wonderfully with Philippine Lechón (Spit roasted pig from Elar's). |

8/29/2011 - geneyus wrote: 93 pointsVery powerful & full bodied wine with moderate to strong tannins. Definitely can stand several more years of aging, or 4 to 6 hours of decanting. Once properly aged or decanted, this wine rises up to it's reputation. Complex and scrumptious black fruit with a myriad of minor tones, including cigar, leather, licorice. Long & strong finish that sums up a wine that you won't forget. |
