12/29/2023 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRExcellent wine but way, way too early. Opened ~6 hours before drinking and it needed that time plus some before it started to show. Super acidic and closed immediately on popping the bottle, really started to open up to a beautiful, floral, red and purple fruit wine towards the end. Needs at least 6-12 hours if opened now, or let it sit for a bunch more years |

1/22/2023 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRFantastic classical riesling - just a hint of petrol on the nose to start, quickly replaced by beautiful lemony, white floral aromas. Backed up by the palate with some additional green apple flavors, great acidity that keeps the sweet fruit in check. Fantastic - I wish I had more. Do you find this review helpful? 9/17/2022 - j.rosenblatt wrote: NRFantastic as usual. Lemon, stone fruit, lovely honey elements, and just a touch of petrol that really rounds it out. Acid is perfect to offset the sweetness, giving a great mouthfeel and finish. Love it, especially for the price |

8/27/2022 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRDrank over two days. Did not change a ton over that time, but definitely gained a little power on the second day. A beautiful, darker-straw color. Lemon through and through here, both on the nose and palate. Along with the lemon is a bit of white flower and actually a bit of salinity (particularly on the palate) that adds a nice layer of complexity. Definitely high on the acid front, but there is enough body in the wine to keep the balance pleasant. Overall a good wine, solid value for the 23 I paid for it. Happy to have another one to drink, probably sooner than later |

7/7/2022 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRFantastic. Pulled right out of the Eurocave and PnP. Brilliant golden hue, surprisingly light in color for its age. The nose exploded out of the glass with rubber, beautiful stone fruit, honey, white flowers, and lemon. The palate was decadent, with the same notes but kept in check with a wonderful shot of lemony acidity. Will seek out more of this - it was phenomenal |

5/29/2022 - j.rosenblatt wrote: NRUnbelievable. Bought at auction and wasnt sure how it was going to show, but we need not have been worried. Poured a spectacular brilliant gold, and absolutely exploded out of the glass with honeysuckle, white flowers, and very ripe stone fruits. Exploded almost doesn't do justice to the intensity of the nose, especially after it sat in the glass for 30 min. It has been a long time since I've felt so much power coming from just the nose, I could have smelled it forever. The palate was just in line with the nose showing strong honeysuckle/floral flavors, with the added bonus of some wonderful lemony acidity that keeps the sugar (which is not strong but definitely present) perfectly in check. Amazing all in all |

1/1/2022 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRFabulous. Nose was strongly lees and freshly baked yeasted bread. The palate confirmed the nose starting with the yeasty/lees-forward flavors, then cut through with some strong lemony/citrusy notes. Ended with a hint of toasted hazelnut which rounded out the profile. |

12/18/2021 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRSurprisingly alive and beautiful. Popped and poured - at first the wine was a little disjointed (tannins were a bit dusty and not well integrated) but with time in the glass the wine came together with beautiful fruit (raspberry, plum), coffee, chocolate, and graphite notes. Overall felt like it was perfectly in the zone - the fruit was still present and wonderful, while still showing some pleasant tertiary components. |

11/20/2021 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRInteresting, though definitely over the hill. When first opened it was definitely reductive, but that blew off after about 30-60min of sitting in the glass. At that point the flavor developed: not much fruit left and both aroma and palate focused on more coffee/toffee with a good background of mulch. All in all fairly tertiary, tasty and fun but not spectacular. |

9/16/2021 - j.rosenblatt wrote: NRBeautiful - showing some signs of of its age (a bit of the stereotypical rubber/petrol) but mostly it felt surprisingly young. Sharp flavors of lemon combined beautifully with the sweet flavors of ripe peach and honeysuckle, all kept in check with a good jolt of acidity. This is a fabulous wine. |

2/1/2020 - j.rosenblatt Likes this wine: NRWas concerned it was going to be dead, but it was very much alive and kicking. Just beginning to fully brick around the rim and had faded to a deep burgundy color. Initially very fruit and spice forward - fresh blueberry and plum with baking spice. Through time (drank over a 2 to 3 hours and was decanted for sediment) the plum became more prominent while developing more toffee-like notes. All in all really excellent |
