Much the same as before now after resting/no chance of bottle shock. Adding an additional pleasant aroma of cranberry, walnut, and brie funk. Tasty!

A sparkling dark crimson rose hue with clarity and translucence that fades to a subtle pink at the edge. Aromas of cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, and apple skin are at the forefront with some baking spices that give way to the slightest hints of fresh earth. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, high acid with explosive flavors that pleasantly attack the cheeks and tongue sides. Tons of red and dark fruit on the palate with a balanced tartness that give way to a little welcomed funk and some very young, slightly drying tannins. Long finish with some vanilla present, hearty with a minor amount of alcohol detected but overpowered by strong fruit. This is a baby but with excellent and mature fruit and tannins. I am very interested in how this is in 10 years and perhaps 15.

Dark garnet red with translucence. Pretty sparkle. Aromas veer towards blackberry with some red jujubee sweetness too. Vanilla along with cedar and some forest funk. There is definitely an old world earthy minerality veering more towards rock and wood than soil. Finish has length but not overly dry. Medium-full bodied with soft, round feel.

Aromas of currant, pencil shavings, vanilla, and some baking spice. Mid weight and silky, coating mouthfeel. Very well balanced. Long, lip smacking finish.

Nice ruby fading with burnt orange rim. Still clear by-and-large. Ample red berry fruit, slight Christmas aromatics (clove, nutmeg, allspice), some cola. Supple with more weight and body than expected. Considerably long finish. Very excited it drinks this well at 14 years. Amping score up +1 because of this.

Wine is still at peak but starting to show a greater concentration of tartrates with the slightest amount of sediment. Drink now.

Violet colored, medium-high bodied with round mouthfeel. Higher amount of red fruit (currant, cranberry) than expected. Certainly black currant there too. There's some herbs and spice, mineral stoniness, sandalwood, tea, garrigue, and molasses. Almost a tarry aspect. The wine finishes long. Good backbone - from acid and tannin. Tannin is smooth and ripe. Very well integrated which actually takes a bit away from the fruit which I hope will pull forward with time. Far too young.

Take with a grain of salt as this was consumed arguably a decade to 15 years after it's best drinking window. But very, very interesting. First, it lasted. Cork was 2/3rd dry, 1/3rd saturated. It broke during opening but did not crumble and the second piece was small and remained intact in bottle. We strained into decanter.

No observable sediment on edges of wine bottle. Very little in bottle. Appearance was translucent, not vibrant but not dulled. Still some ruby. No brown. A little orange at edge but nothing tremendous. Looked like an older wine certainly but not an aged wine. 6

Aromas were some red currant and a bit of hoja santa at the front. Back end of the wine has plenty of funk. Healthy funk, though. Burgundy not brett. No diesel or taint of VA in my opinion. 8

Palatte was pretty simple. Good fruit not great. Berry. Funk at finish. Not a lot of length. Supple. Nice body. No noticeable acid or tannin remains. It's far from lively but its not flat. 15

While not typical, the fact it made it this long proves something about the ageworthiness and how well made this wine was. 10

Appearance - bright, translucent ruby with shimmer. Not leggy of course but not lean or angular.
Aroma - plenty of red berry, a smidge of cola, a bit of celery seed, a good overall integration of some earth and funk.
Palate - great acid spritz! Berries are vibrant, secondary aromas also present on the palate. Flavors are very integrated and present from tip to mid-palate through the finish. Finish is long and building. Tannins are mature. Weight is medium and mouthfeel is velvety. The wine is light and not grippy but plenty coating.
Quality - this is very good fruit and well-made. Elegant. Plenty of preservative capability.
