  • Almost as good as it gets for St-Emilion, and certainly the best QPR of any Premier Grand Cru Classe A wine. Perfect balance & complex structure of myriad fruit & herbal flavors within a luscious velvet tannin drinking experience. Cabernet dominates flavors over Cab Franc & Merlot. One could also think Figeac is left bank, except for medium finish. IT IS 10 YEARS TO EARLY TO BE DRINKING. I was able to replicate what it might taste like then by nurturing how I kept tasting over a 3 day period......poured entire bottle out in a pitcher first day for 4 hours.....poured back in bottle and corked. 2nd day I poured out one glass full and let sit for 3 hours, and drank over two more hours. It was beginning to evolve. 3rd day was perfect out of bottle, and was paired with Rib Eye steak dinner.

  • Aromas of currant, pencil shavings, vanilla, and some baking spice. Mid weight and silky, coating mouthfeel. Very well balanced. Long, lip smacking finish.

  • As many have already stated: much too young, Tight, strict, closed, very firm, dry, elegant yet with quite manly tannin. Lasts long, well build with intense blue fruit. Give it ten years.

  • 2019 Bordeaux Tasting, MW tasting (Vintner's Hall, London): 36% CF 34% CS 30% Mer, 14%
Milky, vanilla, red and black fruit in the nose, thin oak frame
Palate showing juicy tannins, blue fruit black fruit, elegant, ethereal, going back and forth like a wave, welcoming.
A bit dry this point, heady, red black fruit, med body, med finish.
    Give it time

  • Aromas are unlocked, silky palate, full bodied, dense fruit, the tannins are substantial, yet perfectly ripe and rounded. Tasted with the Montrose 2019 beside it and it’s showing less oak influence. It’s everything full throttle but it’s complex, layered and evolving in the glass. So much more concentrated than the equally delightful but more medium body of the Canon 19. A great addition to the cellar, stuffing to last, can’t really go wrong with this one 2029+
