Impressive depth and complexity, giving different profiles at each turn. Still learning to enjoy barolos whence comparing to more oftenly drunk cabernets, zins and pinots... |

8/8/2007 - Finare Vinare wrote: 95 pointsBrownish light ruby red to brick hue. Clear, but not all transparent. Two apparent notes, like proustian madeleine cookies: granny's old strawberry jam and newly peeled banana! Airdried ham, dried fruit, flowers, vanilla, bitter almond and beetroot. Quite alcoholic on the nose, anthon bergs marzipan in fruit and liqueur comes to mind, especially the one with strawberries in champagne. Light and playful, but very powerful. On the palate: velvet, sand, alcohol - and length, it goes on for minutes. Did we push the turbo button of the spaceship? Injects directly into the pleasure centre, causes hair-raising shivers and giggle. Ends in a harmonious character of ripe strawberries, sweet cherries and dark chocolate dessert. Extreme, hot-vintage wine, but given its fresh acidity, it should last for a long time. |
