Mostly clear crimson. Big aromas of cherry vanilla, apricots and a whiff of cedar. Medium to full bodied, nice balance, lighter tannins, and a touch acidic. Flavorful with classic Rochioli flavors of cherries, hibiscus and vanilla. Excellent.

Dark cherry fruit and Vosne spices on the nose. Dark fruited, serious, on ripe fruit. Running low on fruit and tilting towards tertiary notes, this is mature. It also ends just a tad dry. Time to drink up.

This is day 2. Arrival if apples, sources, bark. Palate w dinner mildly bitter grapefruit pith, tart apples, mild minerals. Broad texture with nice acids. Full body. Nice finish of grapefruit pith, apples, and spices. Vanilla butter spice on the very the very end. The spices are reminiscent of oak spices but I'm not sure how much new wood if any are used here. The spices and grapefruit pith flavors are the most prominent here which, as a combination, are not my favorite. Also, wine is pretty straightforward and Lacks dinner complexity. My first petit manseng as a single variety wine. Certainly interesting and a good learning experience.

Delicate red fruits that are well balanced and drinking very well. Some of the California character but refined and not overwhelming at all. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and wish the recent vintages tasted similarly.

Excellent wine! At this point, while still pleasing, it may need a few more years in the cellar. Nose is a bit closed but shows hints of blue fruit and black currant. Fruit is a touch muted but shows blueberry, and some dark fruit. It is solid, broad shouldered and expansive with excellent structure and rounded tannins. Very well made… but needs more time in the cellar to reach its full potential. Opaque red.

Cork was stained 2/3 up the side and came out a little too easy. Wine was flawed, acids and rotten fruit. Too bad.

This is in a great spot right now. Pomegranate and raspberry fruits with some pepper and earth. Great acidity and medium+ finish. This has several more years ahead of it.

It's a Nice chard. Light golden color. Nose apricot, pear, lime and hint of nutmeg. Good acidity from start. Smooth flavors on front of ripe green apple and citrus. Builds with distinct acidity and added pears with little bit of bitter rind on finish with hints of baking spice on back end.

it is dry, austere, well structured. Great color very subtle and blunted nose, lot of stone, limestone, chalk, flint and citrus. Had it on its own, but I assume pairs well with oysters, poached fish.

Open since yesterday, then corked and finish today from 3/4 bottle. Med ruby red. Moderately intense but concentrated forest floor and dark fruit aromas with some vanilla expressing oak on palate. Velvety dark fruit , good acidity . A bit coiled with moderately intense but long finish. Lots more to give and still quite primary, but elegant.

Terrific. A bouquet of toffee caramel, green fruits, citrus and salt. Medium bodied with a saline, mineral lining, green and yellow fruits running on top of it. Great purity of fruit, balance and harmony. Carsten loved this one. With Carsten and Olga at home.

This is a really solid wine. Opened and decanted at 5pm and trying my 1st half glass now. Really awesome. dark, blackberry and blueberry fruit, semi-dark chocolate, tons of minerality, a long finish. More to come.

It was 5pm EST. And yes, the world works on EST. Get used to that.

Rating this on night two performance. Blueberry and plum flavors were fresh and vibrant for its age. Enough violet, licorice and anise seed (nose and finish) to give balance and round out the structure.

2010 Château Langoa Barton St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Note in progress

Straight out of the bottle, the 2010 Langoa shows a nose of red and black cherry, cedar, rose, and moist black earth. This is still working on eating its oak and though that process is mostly complete, it will be quite a long wait for the tannins to mellow. The finish here is intensely cedary. This is a slow-burning Langoa which will takes a couple of decades to really show what it’s capable of doing.

This was a total surprise. Quite aromatic, flavorful, complex, and balanced. Lots of white and yellow fruit clusters, white almonds, and white blossom with a notable salty mineral flair; “sneaky” medium acidity; and a very long fresh finish. Interesting and very tasty. Drink through 2025.

Le vin m’a semblé relativement dissocié. J’ai noté une surmaturité qui m’a dérangé avec un fruit très/trop compoté et un manque de fraîcheur. Pas mon style de vin même s’il a par ailleurs une vraie longueur.

Decanted for over 30+ minutes. Medium garnet in colour with a light brick red rim. Nose of spicy pomegranates and red cherries, red plums, with some earthy forrest floor. On the palate, noticing some red cherries, strawberry fruits, plums, and a touch of dark unsweetened cocoa. A few mentioned the "rusticness" of this, and I tend to agree...has that bit of a CdP grenache-ness to it. Medium bodied with a medium+ finish.

This is delicious! I had trouble with the cork - very dry, it broke in half, but didn't crumble. I decanted but had first glass immediately. No sediment. Nice ruby color. A bit of fruit (cherry, blueberry) up front. Nice long finish. Balanced but with a pleasant chewiness. I will try again tomorrow to see if it mellows further. This 2008 vintage can stay in cellar - hold or drink now. My first experience with Forman - I'm a fan and hope later vintages are as well made.

We enjoyed the 2011 Cab Franc with fluer de sel caramels. The pairing of the salty caramel with the earthy tones of the wine are a match made in heaven. The wine itself has wonderful notes of dark blackberry and toasted praline- a perfect match for the salted caramels.

Nice round body, medium acidity, low tannins with heavy notes of ripe bing cherry. Undertones of plum skin, green potato, toasted nuts & butterfinger bar. Slight noes of a permanent marker.
Young finish- could certainly age for a bit longer.

My cellar has finally grown enough to allow me to enjoy 10+ year old wines. While generally familiar with Nickel & Nickel vineyards, this is the oldest vintage I've enjoyed. And I am NOT disappointed! The words velvety SMOOTH have not ever been applied to N&N, but with 12 years in the bottle? Wow - I have lingering notes for over 45 seconds in my mouth, while only creating that tannic experience with heavy mouthing. Enjoying after dinner with dark chocolate, and couldn't be happier...

This deep ruby wine is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Carménère, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in French oak barriques (71% new). Flashing lots of ripe black fruit, pickling spice, milk chocolate, tobacco, licorice and vanilla, it is a full-bodied red with well-integrated alcohol (15%) and low-to-medium acidity. The oak is dominant at this early stage and the plentiful tannins are a bit angular. Dense in the middle, it moves on to a lengthy, albeit grippy finish. Give this some cellar time. Drink 2026-2041.

Little past its prime. Started kind of thin in the middle and lacked some guts. Picked up a little darker flavors and smoothness at the end of the bottle after two hours.
