I love Viognier, and this one is exceptional. The nose is floral with a hint of oak. On the palate, I get orange peel, honey, kiwi, white peach. To me, the orange peel and honey dominate. Aside from specific tastes, the wine is elegant and sexy. The mouthfeel has a lush, oiliness to it. I wish I had more!

Disappointing. Very little fruit. Mostly heat. What fruit I do pick up is more rhubarb than zin.

Corked. Too bad. It seems like it would have been great.

Disappointed for the price range. But it may have been a cork issue.

I won't rate this one because it was below par. I've had more than average occurrence of corked wine from Mosby. But they have been very good about replacing bad bottles.

Quite rich, dark berry. Some earthiness & leather to it. Lighter tannins. Good acid. To me, this is what a Merlot should be.

This wine has everything good about Zin like the rich fruit, but not the negatives like the hot alcohol of many Calif Zins & heavy pepper. Beautifully balanced fruit, spice, & alcohol. May be the best Zin I have had.

Rich, jammy & delicious without the typical California Zin hot, high alcohol & black pepper. The fruit, alcohol & spice has an elegant balance to it. Was amazing with filet mignon the first night & tortellini bolognese the 2nd night.

Full-bodied. More tannins than your average Pinot. Darker berry fruit. Lovely aromatics.

I'm really enjoying this as an after dinner sipper right now. Zin fanatics probably won't like it - too fruity, not peppery enough, not hot-alcohol enough, not tannic enough. But, the fruit is delightful, kind of like a baking cherry pie. I opened it with the idea of having it with spaghetti bolognese tomorrow. At this price, wishing I had more right now.

A year since my last taste/review, all I have to say is that it's still ridiculously good! Very versatile, & awesome with most anything. I opened it for a pasta with sweet Italian sausage. But, this wine is luxurious enough that it's amazing even standalone.

Pretty old-world: earthy & minerally, not a lot of fruit. Was pretty good with pasta & red sauce. Low end Monte. No comparison to a Monte we had in Rome recently.

Each bottle I've opened, I've gone down a little on the rating. Maybe starting to go downhill? This bottle had more tart than I expect & like. I have several left, so hoping they are better like a year or so ago.

Dark berry, coffee grounds, black pepper. Pretty classic Donati. My one knock on this wine & some of the other Donati 2006 & 2007 vintages is that it is way too chunky! Chunks around the cork. Chunks in the glass, and chunks in the bottom of the bottle. We're going to make a trip to the store for some filters before I open another bottle. If the wine was at least filtered a little, I would have rated it several points higher.

Saved this for the right occasion - 38th anniversary last might! Some pineapple, honeydew, a little orange peel. Complex, but balanced. One of the best viogniers I've had (& I love Viognier).
