4/2/24, 5:28 AM - Mein Fehler, habe es korrigiert. Danke.
3/12/24, 12:31 PM - No, but I love the freshness of 2013 but it has not the deepness and elegance of 08
1/18/24, 8:45 AM - Not many. A friend bought 6 and opened generously 2 of them
12/31/23, 6:35 AM - For me the DP was less evolved than the Rodez but it could be more concentrated for a 2002
12/20/23, 3:28 PM - Thanks for the information. I will try again
12/26/23, 2:36 AM - I have only one left
12/20/23, 1:30 AM - 19 is possible but with art least 4 hours of decantation. I would go with 2011 now. The best wine of these 3 is without a doubt 2019. have fun
12/3/23, 11:21 AM - thanks for the info. my mistake. I will change it
11/19/23, 8:09 AM - Yes it is 9gr, it felt less, but surely an opulent style
10/21/23, 1:52 AM - I agree, 164 is sublime
10/19/23, 1:37 PM - If you really like it fresh than it is epic. Even for me preferring champagnes from 79 or 80ies love this wine. Perfectly balanced and not too sweet, even drier compared to the regular bottle. But no hurry... you are right
10/19/23, 1:34 PM - WE had it with grilled seabrass but grilled veal should be fine, too. Very powerful and multi layered wine with some waffles and candied fruits, honey and roasted almonds. Should fit to almost everything. Enjoy
10/2/23, 11:10 PM - In my case there is a booklet with the numbered bottles, my name and the 3 vintages with are inside
10/3/23, 6:29 AM - I’m no one of them , only knowing Richard very well. Im on Holiday now, I will send the next weeks a picture
9/6/23, 11:18 PM - Bei jungen Burgundern habe ich häufig etwas (störende) Tomate. Mein Problem denke ich.
9/6/23, 11:17 PM - Ich habe leider zu wenig Erfahrung mit älteren Mascarellos
8/24/23, 8:59 AM - The last bottle I decanted 5 hours in advance. It helped a lot but I know from older experiences it also works without aeration. Cheers
8/6/23, 4:19 AM - I don't know specially this disgorgement. I had the feeling that the latest disg. after 2019 are fresher and less oxidative but if you get an older disg. I always prefer them of their deepness even if you have sometimes some too evolved (oxidative) bottles. I hoped my answer could help you.
7/11/23, 5:59 AM - Good question. It is really a gem but I guess it has not the depth and concentration of the G-Max 2004. SF is close to his peak, G-max not but at least 7-10 more years for the SF. Cheers
7/7/23, 2:37 AM - you are rigth I guess. I just noted 2019.
7/4/23, 5:51 AM - This is really a good question. But at least 10 years I guess. I had some 2008 pierrieres and they are still fresh but I think his BdB will last longer. I hope that helped?
5/15/23, 5:39 AM - Once 99, once 98, but the first time RD was 98, similar in style, even if the RD PN dominated. Cheers
3/17/23, 5:45 PM - Never, great champagnes . Worth every cent
3/19/23, 4:34 AM - Yes, my same opinion
2/13/23, 10:36 AM - I bought it 10 years ago at an auction, after that well stored. It remembered me to an old Vin de Contance. Colour awful but fresh in the palate. This one was not really bad but missing (expecting) more freshness. I hope it helped?
1/5/23, 12:52 AM - thanks, I changed
12/18/22, 3:20 AM - It is a really good wine, but if you compare it to other recent Krug vintages as 2002 and 2004 it lacks in freshness and precision (ratings 95-99). Compared to Edition 164eme (base 2008) it is far behind (96-100). Compared to other big houses or small growers from this vintage it has not the concentration and elegance and is "weaker" than the expectations but still a good wine. I had yesterday again a bottle and it was again not really convincing. In the beginning I was more 94-95. Now I'm more at 93-94 with points. But this wine is still better than 95% of the other champagnes. I don't think it will never be close to perfection . The good grapes are in the 164. But time will tell us in 10-20 years.
10/30/22, 8:52 AM - yes, the host was so generous to open a second bottle after the first one was defective or at least not performing as wished and hoped.
10/24/22, 7:27 AM - I'm not sure, but 2002 Rare was delivering from the first sip. We had some other 2008s and they were performing "better". I think if the wine is REALLY big it is good in the beginning, in the middle and with aging. This wine shows some evolved ripeness for a 2008. I think it is not only due to the baroque house style. Compared to DP, Cristal, William Deutz BdB and Winston Churchill to name a few it is less fresh and less pleasant. But I don't know what will happen in 10 years. Just my feeling and experience.
10/18/22, 10:42 AM - This was not my bottle…but if you have 6 why not? 😂
9/24/22, 6:16 AM - Sorry for the late answer, similar but less concentration, a bit less focused.
9/18/22, 10:59 PM - HiAll the editions are the same content. Just marketing. Sometimes the degorgement date differ a little bit.
8/20/22, 2:12 AM - yes, soory for the late answer
5/8/20, 12:54 AM - I agree 100%. Maybe the best German Riesling. Still so fucking fresh
5/10/20, 10:47 PM - Dear fc1910,After your comment I have to try Felseneck 09 and 10, both were in great shape, At least 8-10 more years ahead. The 2009 is outshining evrything. Liebe Grüße aus Düsseldorf
7/12/22, 8:36 AM - ThebIt is at least (one of) the best from 2009.
7/12/22, 8:31 AM - ok, i will try one more time. Maybe at home from regular bottle..
5/8/22, 3:20 AM - You are a little bit right, we had a lot of great wines that day, so maybe I should spend more time with it but many of the others flashed me and touched my heart more than this icon. It was not really balanced. 94
5/7/22, 7:11 AM - I think you are right, but even with a few hours of aeration too oak overloaded. But as I wrote it was served too warm in the beginning. I will try again hopefully. Cheers
4/12/22, 5:45 AM - This is a good idea. One now and one maybe in 5 years. It is still in great shape. Makes really fun, no oxidation signs. Cheers
3/18/22, 6:06 AM - Correctly would be to write, base vintage is 2017. It is not a classical vintage champagne but shows the characteristics of that year. I hope my answer helped? cheers
3/24/22, 7:46 AM - You are right, false wine. It is only vintage 2017. I will chamge it. Thanks
3/23/22, 1:45 PM - I don’t know . I don’t have so much experience with roagna. Good eine nothing more but for barolo very accessible in this young stage
3/18/22, 6:08 AM - You are welcome, really generous to drink now
2/20/22, 1:06 PM - I agree. Always a pleasure and the best with mouton and cheval blanc from this vintage. I guessed from this size should be fresher but then it would be not that accessible . Do I was happy with the evolved double magnum
2/15/22, 11:17 AM - Yes, sure, fixed it. Thanks
2/19/22, 1:10 AM - Hi Collector1855,I really like Lilbert from Cramant, they have great aging potential. Ulysse Collin's Les Roises (and Les Enfers) are beside Clos du Mesnil and Millesime from Selosse top of the notch. Great value from the big houses are Roederer and Pol Roger. Small producers Leclapart's L'Apotre, Doquet's Les Mesnil VV, E. Brochet's Haut CH, Vergnon, Bouchard's La Haute-Lemble, Vilmart's Les Blanches Voies 2009, Vouette Sorbee Blanc d'Argile.I hope I could help youCheers, next champagne trip on Wednesday
2/9/22, 12:28 PM - Hallo, ca 1,5 Stunden vorher dekantiert und über eine Stunde getrunken. Unbedingt eine Flasche aufmachen. Viel Spaß
2/1/22, 11:17 PM - I tried my best
1/19/22, 10:46 AM - Yes 13 is great, especially Fac-simile, but I mean 20 years and more. Enjoy.
12/20/21, 3:23 AM - Decanted for 2 hours, could be more
11/30/21, 3:03 PM - It doesn’t matter, I would rate not so high but this is a truly a gem . Fantastic
11/23/21, 12:32 PM - Yes I checked my case, it is LB 56 bottling. Cheers
10/23/21, 2:19 AM - If you have some bottles, it is really worth to open one in this incredible fresh stage
10/5/21, 11:38 AM - Hi, it was decanted for about two hours. Many people how great they are after decades but even in this young age it makes a lot of fun. Cheers
11/26/16, 3:34 AM - Dear Rolf, I Forget to write down the exact disgorgement, but I know the base wine was from 2008. I'm not a Rose Lover but this was the second best I had so far after Cristal 1996, comparable with DP 96 and Cuvee Elisabeth 1998. Enjoy
9/29/21, 6:38 AM - We all at the table were really suprised. We all knew there were 2 older Krug Roses and a pirat. No one could guess the pirat and we all thought the best one in this flight (CH) was a Krug.I agree the best Krugs' are frequently older Grande Cuvees, at least the most complex ones..Cheers
9/20/21, 9:34 AM - Hi you have 2 or more bottles I would open it. Very hedonistic, maybe 3 hours of decantation. Most of the 2005 are in nice drinking window. If you have one I would wait maybe 5-10 years. I liked it in this stage anyway.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
