Amazing wine. I don’t buy this very often . This is not a wine for aging and has seen no oak.
If you come across it and have the opportunity buy 1x6 and enjoy .
Super example of every day claret from a really good year.
Pleasant typical nose. Smooth entry and surprisingly full mouthfeel.
15-30 minute decant with no sediment.

Whilst not my favourite dessert wine you can’t argue with the quality.
Beautiful rich dark golden colour, very string nose of honey & marmalade which it certainly delivers for a good length in the mouth with a rich unctous coating. May not suit those who want more delicate with acid present.

Pleasant enough but not a patch on the 2010.
Very modern style. Good nose reasonable end but nothing in the middle. Certainly can do better even at this price level

The wines of Valdepenas are not for serious drinking or contemplation IMO.
They are perfectly respectable and very well made for what they are delivering a QPR for a refreshing light wine with or without food. Serve a little on the cool side perhaps 15-16c. Just relax and enjoy.
Bouquet of damp forest floor with a gentle lift in the mouth of dark fruits. Smooth no real sign of tannins. Then again after years in large barrels before bottling it is much as one could hope for.
No need to keep just buy and consume

Amazing. Great QPR. Organic as-well. Perfect exhibition of what can be achieved for a very reasonable price with the Chardonnay grape.

Very powerful nose of dark fruits and tar. Served at about 18-19c decanted for 3 hours. Perfect if not my preferred style. I like something more feminine like Chateau d’Issan. Fair amount of that dark fruit and plenty of tar with reasonable length in the mouth. Pleased I have 5 more left. Great QPR.

Amazing QPR. Drinking well now & exactly what you would expect of a really well made Burgundian white. Over delivers for the price. Served at about 10c naturally got fuller and rounder over the next hour of drinking. Would show best with food rather than just as a wine for the terrace.
Nothing less than you would anticipate from Verget

3hour decant served at 18c . Everything was perfect re service & storage BUT I forgot the comments from SHRIKE. I should have waited about 5 more years which I shall for the next one. Lovely nose lots of typical Pauillac flavours going on. Better after an hour at the end just too soon to get the very best from it I suspect just as SHRIKE told me.
I have learnt my lesson but still a positive experience to taste along the journey. There is much more to come

Fruit full bodied yet now overpowered by the later harvest natural sweetness. Off Dry.
Just don’t know what more you could ask for.
I find it the most perfect pairing with boiled crab.
Can’t see how I will keep the last 3 very long. Maybe I should lose one at the bottom of one of my wine storage fridges.

Amazing value. If you like Mosel wine this really delivers a great QPR.
Everything on would expect of a trocken. Powerful fruit on the nose when opening even at 10c. In the mouth green & tropical fruit is present. A little Mosel acidic lift which will soften with in te near future I expect. Whilst no one would anticipate a long life for a wine of this style my feeling is consumers will be surprise and Thomas Haag very satisfied with what he is producing.

Last 2 bottles have been spot on after a corked bottle. Still I suppose as I purchased 120 bottles in France and bought back in my car pre covid I can’t complain if you get a faulty bottle or 2.
This is a great value wine. I have just purchased 36x 2020 from the vineyard and had them delivered to a friend in the Haute-Vienne where I can bring them back from over the next few years. Will probably add a few more when I have had a preview, as if I need it at E10.50

Every bottle of this really delivers. A blend of 80%Syrah and 20%Grenache. The dark fruit still comes through strong with a reasonable length. Anybody who like GSM or southern Rhone wines should love this for the price. Not readily available so if you find it you really must try.
This comes from a ‘small’ family business that now makes over 2,000,000 bottles But this is from a plot at 1300 ft near their Chateau and shows what they can do.

Not fading at nearly 6 years of age. Beautifully intergrated and good length in the mouth. Not a wine for quaffing or as an aperitif definately shines with food. Maybe I’ve underscored the wine.

For my money drink up. It’s on the wane. I’ve had one corked, plenty of really good ones but also a few with variation including this bottle. Nothing wrong but a bit thin on the attack and no real fruit. Nose was fine.
One bottle to go 🤞

I must start off by saying Viognier is not my favourite but nice to have available.
Nose of oak at first upon opening not unpleasent or to powerful. In the mouth you don’t get the oak but the smooth, round, full, rich fruit & dry but no noticeable acid.
Good length and will certainly last a year or 2 yet. Great QPR, then again not the first vintage I have purchased of this but maybe the best so far

Trocken & particularly Groses Gewach are a relatively modern style of wine developed to be food friendly. They are certainly that. This has aged in the bottle nicely and now no trace, to me, of the sulphur noticed in the previous bottle of 6 months ago. Served a touch to cool at about 8/9c as it warmed it filled out a little. The nose had the delicate fruits you expect of Mosel but with a line of salinity all the way through in the mouth only fading towards the end of the bottle as the green slate associated with the Mosel became apparent. I believe it has a good few years ahead and feel it will develope a little more.

See earlier TN from March 2023. Lovely wine proving as some one else Cellar Tracker recently said about this wine, it can age. It has put on weight since first purchased. Better with food as it allows the wine to really show.

I just don’t know what more I could want from a bottle of champagne. Perfection in a glass accompanied by lightly salted crisps(chips). I could never get bored with bottle no 10 of 12. They seem to have got better for 20 years and then just glided on. When I think of the price compared top claret it just seems much better value IMO. Then again apart from a couple of bottles I’ve never had truly great claret older than 1996 so what do I know. More research to be done I suppose.

Lots to appreciate similar in style to a good Chateauneuf du Pape not surprisingly as it from Grenache & Syrah. A Bit too powerful for my personal liking but no denying the quality. Obvious dark fruit on the nose, very full in the mouth so smooth with just a touch of tar & tannin on the finish.
Very impressive & pleasing if it’s your particular style for enjoyment. In no way am I disappointed to have purchased 6 bottles. Just need to ensure I always share it with company so I enjoy a glass and not get tied from the 2nd.

Mhb previous TN of 8 months ago was correct. I should have waited a few more years. Sagrantino takes a few years to age. Dry on the follow thru which will hopefully soften out. If so everything is in place for very nice wine. Organic

This really is amazing QPR. As it is getting older it is filling out a little more in the middle. I feel maybe i have underbaked it in the past when one considers the price point. If you have access to this wine you must try it.

Points are always relative. If you were just passing a simple french restaurant where locals go for the plat du jour or the tabled’hote this wine would be very acceptable by the carafe/pichet or just as a simple house red. At the price it is all you would expect. Very correct. Just nothing about which to really write a tasting note. However over the next 2 weeks we shall certainly be having some goodies. LOL 🍷

Continues to deliver amazing QPR IMO.
Opened with a short decant of around 30 minutes served at about 18c. Very pleasant nose of dark red fruits with a reasonable length. In the mouth delivered the same fruits with a hint of tar and subtle tannin. Round and full but not heavy. Short to medium length but for a standard Cairanne bottling at he price very impressive to accompany simple fayre.

Amazing value. Delicate nose after 3 hour decant and served at about 18c. Smooth entry obviously Sangiovese as expected but smoother than many at this price level. As it warmed up the forward fruit became much more obvious without any sign of tannins. EXCELLENT for it’s level.

The consistency of this wine is amazing. Very pleasing on the nose without being in your face with fruit. To be expected at this stage.
Delivers a combination in the mouth of gentle fruit and some savoury notes with medium length. Maybe some would expect a bigger body but remembering it is a Pomerol in a not great year I am more than satisfied with the QPR. That said I am planning to drink up my remaining bottles over the next 3-4 years.

Not aged as well as the 2009, 2010 both exceptional for the price level or the 2015.
Good example of what Bergerac can do without being too powerful or rustic which IMO many are. The standard bottling of Cote de Bergerac rouge from the family vineyard is a multi award winning wine as is the family of winemakers. Vignobles Pierre Sadoux

A nice simple Rioja crianza. Nice fruit on the nose smooth gentle dark fruit in the mouth with a strong sense of vanilla all the way through. Not a style I would buy often but for something much lighter very acceptable. Can’t understand how anyone gave it 95pts and a Gold medal. Still at the price hey ho.

A little fuller in the middle than the Heldenstuck but finishes quite green with more acid showing. I was surprised.Perhaps it highlights just how good the Heldenstuck from the same vintage is ?

Wonderful straight from a fridge at 7c. Obviously too cold but surprisingly stood up very well. As it warmed up and got a little air it really grew. Tastes fractionally off of bone dry for a trocken Mosel surprisingly round in the middle with a a little of that Mosel acidity giving it. Nice gentle lift/freshness. All sorts of smooth and delicate typical flavours which are often missing in trocken wines. Medium length. Perfect now but will go on for a few years yet

Truly amazing QPR.
Patience has been rewarded !
This wine has always impressed me But cannot now believe it will get any better. Tastes of everything you would expect from a top quality ‘middle Mosel’ vineyard and finishes with a nice gentle smokiness.
Probably too late to get hold of but if you get the chance try it.
I had this with a tomato & Feta cheese salad. No dressing just salt & pepper. Amazing combination as I don’t really like Feta !

Truly amazing QPR. I am not ashamed to say it cost less than E9/$10 in a French supermarket. I tried one & went back for a box of 6 and shall be buying on future visits.
Very refreshing, gentle summer fruits in the mouth. Just a really great quaffing wine or aperative. Tonight we had it with Quiche and a salad of tomatoes. Just lovely.

2 hour decant, needs 4 IMO.
To start with the tannins seemed a bit dry and the fruit was shy.
Better after an hour at the table. Tannins lot less austere and more fruit in the mouth and much smoother.
Typical Pauillac, which is not my favourite commune. I prefer the more feminine commune of Margaux.
Started out about 88/90 but finished at 92

Needed at least a 3 hour decant.
Started off at about 88 with a dry finish after an hour in the glass became much smoother with stronger fruit in the mouth and a nice smooth follow through

Amazing depth but a little sulphur present upon opening as per another TN. Next time will definately decant for an hour and let warm up to about 14c.
I store my whites at around 10c.
Lots of white fruit but the lychee stands out with that steel like Mosel acidity present. Will wait another 12 months or so before trying again.
Score should improve markedly

First of the 12 I purchased last year on a roadtrip through the Southern Rhone. Hard to believe that this so beautifully balanced with all the flavours you would expect from a good vintage. The round & ripeness of the core has nothing overdone. A perfectly refreshing wine either for food or just to enjoy. Not overblown with ‘hints’ of tar appearing in the background if you concentrate. KUDOS to Domaine Brusset amazing QPR. A simple Cairanne village wine that delivers. Refreshing not heavy

Had this many years ago when I really didn’t like champagne possibly because I could only afford NV from the readily available supermarket heavily advertised like Moët.
Then I fell in love Dom & Crystal. LOL
Over the years guests occasional bring NV Grand Marques but I’ve made the mistake of never having any.
This was a revelation. Balanced beautifully, fresh yet not green or to acidic, hints of some much quality. Amazing.

Represents good value and satisfying at the price point. Fresh & lively acidity more fruit than you might expect but dry. Very similar in style and could easily be mistaken for a Mosel Riesling which is amazing given it is a ‘noble’ blend of 4 varieties of grape. Could easily keep 2-3 years and possibly put on a bit of weight. Personally i would just drink.

Pnp served at about 8c and needs to be cold. Has a surprising fuller mouthfeel than the lightweight I was expecting. Whilst not very complex a still satisfying and refreshing wine for which certainly delivers for what is an inexpensive wine.
