This wine was not decanted and the aroma of soft strawberrys, spice and cherries float gentely into your nose; palate was exceedingly "round" and/or full with soft red cherries, berry and strawberry and soft tannins and spice with a nice aftertaste. Acid was well balanced.

I have now had this wine twice; color is a pure slight purple or garnet and has an expressive nose of red fruits, plum and spice, palate is pure and balanced with med. viscosity strawberry, cherrys and plumbs and exotic spices with slight "cola' and a lingering finish. I love the PN def. one of my top 2-3 PN's

I love this wine as I have been a buyer since the 2002 vintage (which I scored a 95 along with RP etc.) the 2004 was passed through an aireation device into a decanter for 1 hour the nose is intense with ripe dark fruits, tobacco, oak and spice on the palate the wine is vicous and soft with bing cherrys, rasberrys, and other dark fruits, dusty spice akin to Rutherford dust like component and well balanced and a nice long finish; cheers to Mark Herald and Hestan vineyards. (nice bounce back from 2003 vintage which I rated 89-91)

Drank from 1.5ml that was purchased and picked up from winery. I agree with Mr. T as this seemed like a French bordeaux; very soft with subtle fruit but not much going on with seconday flavors or attributes. just Ok to good.

Decanted wine for @2hours, nose opens with soft fruit, blackberrys, bing cherry, cassis, mineral and on the palate this wine is not overly ripe or viscus but practically perfect with notes of cocoa, wood and florals with a nice finish (wife gave it 100)

Opened and did the bottle shake method. The nose was full of candied fruit , oak, blackberries, black cherries and spice, with the fruit, oak and spice very nicely integreated into the wine with a soft mouth-feel (not a coating) and a nice finish--nicely rounded-- 93+

This wine was decanted and vigerously swirled and left to open for 1 hour. The nose was muted but after an hour revealed nice spice, darker fruits, subtle oak all brought together on the palate nicely (round) nice soft mouth-feel and again Paul makes an excellent second wine. This wine could evolve into 93+ with further ageing.

Beautiful wine, very dark in color almost PS like. Nose of dark fruit and cassis with nice red fruits and some toast some lovely "dust" with a definate appearance of a Howell mnt. or Stag's leap appl. ; on palate this wine is awsome with fruit taking "front court" but not overly sweet, a balanced wine with a powerful approach but a sexy side and nice finish---93 (wife rated this a 94 and really loved this)

This wine was extrodinary with purity and clarity that is typ. of white Burgundy. Drunk from 375ml in reidel Montrachet stems. Awsome nose of citris, grapfruit (when warmer), lemon zest, strong caramel and butterscotch with light mineral and soil components. The palate was soft and balanced with all the flavors cascading down with the caramel and butterscotch taking front and formost with an exceedingly long finish 93-94 (firm)

I love this wine maker. Earthy and thoughful vintner and family. This wine's nose expresses the terra very well with citrus, and lemon zest, stone and oak and smoke and balanced. Not as round and lush as a Grand Cru but for $30 a great value 90pts.

I have been anticipating this wine since out extended stay in Paris last summer. We were the guests of Olivier Leflaive , for a day, where we started the day at his "table du Olilvier Leflaive" where we enjoyed a lunch prepared around the numerous white Burgundy wines of O. Leflaive. We have been in contact with his direct shipping agent to the US and we have had 3 cases of Grand Cru's shipped directly to our home.

Tonight we dined out with a first course of scallops followed up by a Halibut and chicken prepared to allow the best of this wine to show through and I brought my own Reidel Montrachet glasses to more fully experience this wine.

The nose was almost too much to take in; white flowers, citrus, grapfruit, nuts/almonds, white cherries, minerals and stone (?),apples and slight pears a little oak and smoke; on the palate this wine is balanced and lush with all these flavors comming and going as the temp. went up with a lavish and lush profile of flavors comming through that at times were too numerous to place; the finish was so so long.

After a wine like this it will make it very difficult to enjoy another "white" as the complexity was extrordiany!

I had this wine in Burgundy and found it excellent. This came right out of the bottle with an expansive nose of citrus, white flowers, minerals, stone and almond on the palate this was full and balanced with great depth and a long thoughtful finish. I must get more of this as this was a great effort from a so so vintage.

I shared this at the Napa Magnum party hosted by Powell. This wine was served directly out of Magnum. The nose was fabulous with huge fruit (almost candied) with spice and cassis comming out of glass. On the palate full tastes of dark fruit, cherry, spice and mineral ; this is a balanced wine and had a long finish. Sorry I only bought one Magnum!

opened and decanted 1 hour --not showing much
after 4 hour decant --wow-- the nose starts to explode with dark fruits, licorice, mineral and spices, on palate all these flavors come through nice with addition of plum and cherry's really a blanced wine with long finish. Defenately needs a long decant at this time.

Decanted this wine for 3 hours then poured; The nose was explosive with dark fruits, cassis, oak and spice (very enjoyable) on the palate this wine is really "round" or balanced with all these flavors coming through in unison with a nice finish. This wine has a burgundy look and taste. Citrus, apricot and cream (for a nice mouth coat) flavors on palate too numerous to remember with a finish of smooth power. Drunk after "Albino" and the Lewis preformed right up there!

Decanted for 1/2 hour nose full of fruit but also seondary attributes of spice, oak, leather, mineral --ready to drink-- fantastic balance of fruit and tannins, a truly great wine and ready now but could hold for another 5 years+-. The only wine that bested the 97 Jones were the fresh 02 Merus and more powerful 97 Harlan from an allstar lineup of 16 great wines.

This is an amazing blend and wine. I have had the 2002 and loved it but Lewis raised the bar with this 2003! Full nose of dark fruit and some great spice, full palate of darker fruits, oak, and more spices (but balanced) with long and memorable finish! 92-95 (bought more after my first bottle)

This is a nice (second) wine from Lewis. Nice nose with fruit and spices coming out (not great) on palate I find cherries, tart darker fruit and some spices medium depth with shorter finish. This wine was decanted for 3 hours and drunk over the next 4 hours with 1/2 bottle left re-corked. Second day the nose had not changed much and on palate the wine was just about the same. 87-89 (for price @$55 I can find better )
