Saturday, October 15, 2022 - J.L. Chave Hermitage vertical tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden colour. Nose reminded me of an off-dry, ripe Molitor Riesling Auslese: dried, candied pineapple, dried apricots and some floral notes. Beautiful.
On the palate the same impression: Not fully dry, more off-dry, botrytis notes, peach, apricot, sweet ripe fruit, spicy. Creamy and balanced, good length. 91-92 Potential for another decade. Fantastic PQR!
