Community Tasting Note

Sunday, November 13, 2022 - At a tasting of recently bottled 2020s. Wine of the evening for me. Just fabulous huge nose really took me by surprise. Medium to heavy weight of fruit. Soft yet structured. Huge finish. I wrote 'got to have' and was very pleased when I got home to find I'd already ordered a half case en primeur. I normally rate young wine a little lower than the experts but this is the second year in a row I've made an exception for Barton. I really should have tried the Langoa as well. Also the second year in a row I've scored Barton a shade higher than Poyferré despite being much the cheaper wine. Barton has always been good value; this year its stunning value.
