Sunday, November 27, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Side by side with the 2015 Bartolo Mascarello. This is a wine that needs food a bit more and so in the beginning didn’t stand quite as well. When it was paired with a meat plin it started to open up. I still think the Bartolo edged it but both are excellent wines. This is a lot more structure, more intensity, a bit less open or giving initially. Fruit a bit darker and less accessible. Body just a bit heftier. Still a nice wine though.
