Not as good of an experience as the first bottle that i opened. Maybe it was the fact that we were tasting it side by side with Brunate. We tasted 3 vintages - 2008, 2013 and 2015 and in every vintage the group universally preferred Brunate over Tre Tine.

Rinaldi's 2015 Tre Tine doesn't show the warmth of the vintage, showing in fact bright and floral, perhaps benefiting from a shorter maceration. Rose, crunchy berries, and thyme. Medium bodied. Very good.

Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Side by side with the 2015 Bartolo Mascarello. This is a wine that needs food a bit more and so in the beginning didn’t stand quite as well. When it was paired with a meat plin it started to open up. I still think the Bartolo edged it but both are excellent wines. This is a lot more structure, more intensity, a bit less open or giving initially. Fruit a bit darker and less accessible. Body just a bit heftier. Still a nice wine though.

It took a lot of effort to coax out the true nature of this wine. It was surprisingly gentle for a barolo - menthol and rose water add elegance to the fresh red fruits, providing fullness without being too overwhelming. The tannins are fine, but can still mature with more age on the bottle.
This will drink even better in 5-10 years most likely, but the current state (with enough patience) is already very enjoyable.
The 2015 ‘Tre Tine’ is a beautiful choice within the “younger” vintages of Rinaldi’s Barolos. Rich, round and quite giving on the palate, with rather soft textures, but also a remarkable freshness for 2015. Macerated cherry, spice and sage are some of many flavors arising.

Burlotto Barolo Tasting + X (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Wonderful fine tannin, lots of fine red fruit (Strawberry, raspberry, cherries), rose petals. Very deep and concentrated, almot oily texture, beautiful balance, very long and complex finish. Drinks beautiful now, but absolutely no need to hurry. 94+

Nicely perfumed with spiced rose petals and rosewood. Palate hits with dark and red cherry, raspberry and rosewood delivered with sleek mouthfeel. Finely juicy acidity, fine drying tannin on a long finish.
A step up from the 2014 in concentration. As good or better than the 2011 Tre Tine, which means this wine will be glorious in ten years.
Today 93, but can clearly see 95+ if the wine is given time to properly age.

Huge, expressive and utterly compelling nose and a pretty corresponding palate. Red cherry & plum, menthol, lavender, red & purple flowers, light cinnamon are lifted in a fresh framework of aromas. This is showing very nicely and doesn't seem to have shut down in the past years. On the contrary, I found a really convincing expression, harmony and balance.

Sublime! The nose was the height of Barolo perfume perfection from pour to finish 3 hours later. Ready from opening this was my first Rinaldi and the only possible comparison is with Mascarello Bartolo. The precision of the fruit, the sensation of the tannins, the poise elegance and thrust all perfect but secondary to that nose! A wow wine In every sense- this the last bottle of a 4 day trip to le langhe and it’s on a different level.

Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2021 Edition; 10/8/2021-10/10/2021 (Piemonte, Italy): This is indeed a special wine and much like its younger sibling the 2016 we had last year ( Papies 94) once again at the beautiful Il Centro a Priocca this delivered . Young but also very approachable and delivers, firm but also welcoming, well balanced and even at a young age delivers complexity and excitement. An impressive result and a beautiful wine . 94

Divine attack right from opening, then we decanted it for ~45 minutes. Oddly the decanting made it a bit harder at first, it lost the freshness and rich black fruits. More time in the decanter and we regained the bright elegance, luscious dried cherry notes, touch of leather. Antonio Galloni mentions some VA, but we did not perceive any in this bottle.

Very refreshing and distinct floral tones that lies above the berry fruit, slightly orange border and lightly sweet spice. Medium-bodied wine with good delicate red fruit and with nice minerality. A little more sweetness at the end. Smooth tannin structure. Not too deep, but this drink very well earlier. Great wine. 93 points.

Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): From the wine list at Massimo Camia (La Morra). Very disappointed that the Rinaldi visit got dropped from our itinerary. We decided to do a Rinaldi flight for our last meal of the trip together. Tasted by side by side with the '15 Brunate. For me this is the prettier, more elegant, more accessible and red fruited of the two wines. The aromatic on this were lovely as well. My sense is this will be ready to drink sooner - although they were both still babies.

Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): This was a winery I was very excited to visit, but our tour company dropped it from the list in one of the last itinerary updates so we decided to do our own mini tasting on the last day. Next to the Brunate. This one was much more approachable I think between the two and it was the first bottle to go. It's a darker fruit profile. Still good minerals. Again that elegance. There was a touch more give here than the Brunate and perhaps a bit more ready to drink young although both to me needed a lot more time. Went best when paired with some of the meat plin options that others had.

Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine 2015. Presis. 94p

Much more open and perfumed than the bottle at the cantina a few days earlier. Cherry, roses, great perfume. It is mid weighted and graceful with hidden power and depth with the Cannubi perfume really center stage. There is breadth and an expansive sappy palate, with a simultaneous expression of suppleness and power. Effortless and harmonious. Terrific. 95
France and Italy - May 6 to May 10, 2019: Explosive aromatics - sandalwood, black tea, rose hips, star anise, spices, braised fig. Seamless and elegant palate with a core of red fruits, soil & mineral notes and dried herbs. Lithe and silky density - airy and exotic. Very fine tannins, and an expansive and complex finish. Beautiful.

Piedmont; 2/11/2019-2/15/2019 (Alba, Italy): Incredible. The purity of red fruit here, along with the maddeningly sweet floral perfume make for a lovely nose, which also matches the palate. Despite the ripe vintage, the only sign of ripeness here is that the fruit is perfectly sweet. Balanced and with great poise, this is the lighter, delicate sibling to the hefty Brunate. While I would give a slight nod to this wine's heftier sibling, this wine itself is no slouch and I'd be more than thrilled to put this in my cellar when it's released.

Opened it to see if I want to buy more of 2015 vintage
Used coravin and let the wine rest in the glsss for 30 or so mins.
@sared note is spot on. Nicely perfumed, red cherry, translucent, juicy acidity.
A producer I need to buy a lot more of.
