Tuesday, January 31, 2023 - Crimson in color. 14.4% ABV. Brooding nose of red fruits, roasted herbs and forest floor. Medium body with strong acidity. Dark and earthy. Black cherry, iron, mushroom, earth and just a hint of strawberry that emerges on the back of the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. The Pinots from Aston are, to my taste, more Burgundian than the Rivers-Marie lineup. This will age well. Best over the next 4-6 years. A healthy decant would be warranted in the meantime.
