Can't remember the last time I opened an Aston, so I pulled this bottle. Dark red fruits on the nose and palate. Mouthfeel is spot on and the finish lingers nicely. I told Mrs. TLV that bottles like this are the reason I fell in love with Pinot Noir.

To be honest, not sure which cuvee this was. Had the red X label. But good drinking either way. Nothing spectacular, but what I like from Pinot (mainly no tannins and not too acidic.

Another lovely velvet glove around a Burgundian stone fist. Powerful yet full fruits of strawberry and red raspberries. Light touch of thyme and sage mid palate. Roses pop out at the back. All flavors are extracted. Acidity will never allow it to be flabby. Can anyone tell me what forest floor taste likes?? I feel a little insecure about that....

Crimson in color. 14.4% ABV. Brooding nose of red fruits, roasted herbs and forest floor. Medium body with strong acidity. Dark and earthy. Black cherry, iron, mushroom, earth and just a hint of strawberry that emerges on the back of the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. The Pinots from Aston are, to my taste, more Burgundian than the Rivers-Marie lineup. This will age well. Best over the next 4-6 years. A healthy decant would be warranted in the meantime.
