Friday, February 24, 2023 - Deep reddish-purple garnet in color. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of dusty/earthy & spice notes of cloves & pepper, herbs, anise, dark cocoa & minerals. Full bodied with a good concentration of well balanced, & smooth textured, lush & plush, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & mulberries with spices, herbs, minerals & dark cocoa. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. Appears to be a bit more fruit forward & accessible than previous vintages but has the structure to develop further with a few more years of additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (93+). May be among the better vintages for this wine.
