Saturday, March 25, 2023 - Just before the Evangile 1975, we had a Lafleur 1982! And what immediately struck me was the color of the Evangile; the wine still had red shades and no brown background, which you would expect, and it looked younger than the Lafleur. If I hadn't known the year, I would have guessed 1989/90On the nose, there was a sweet note leaning towards marzipan or almond paste, and deeper down, there were also pepper, spice, and tobacco scents. On the palate, the sweetness from the nose was confirmed, making the wine attractive, round, and very pleasant to drink. It paired extremely well with the truffles! The wine is at its peak and already slightly past it.
