Well, what a wine, but especially those like me who were lucky enough to buy this wine when it came out at 27 euros a bottle probably made the deal of their lives! I took the wine to a restaurant and they probably didn't have the best glasses to check it, hence my 98 out of 100! Especially since I enjoy the aroma more than the taste!
Aromas in the nose 1. Ripe red fruits such as cherries and strawberries 2. Blackberries and plums 3. Floral notes, such as violets and berries 4. Leather and tobacco notes
Flavors on the pallet 1. Red and dark fruits, with a focus on cherries and blackberries 2. Plum jam and raspberry preserves 3. Pepper and clove spices 4. Licorice and dark chocolate 5. Herbal elements, reminiscent of 6. Toasted oak and vanilla from barrel aging
The wine of the evening, Hommage 2012, against La Turque 2007 from Guigal, Sassicaia 2012, and Cos d'Estournel 2014! All very different, and consumed over a period of 4-5 hours. Until the end, the Hommage was prominently present both on the nose and in the mouth. If you're a fan of Châteauneuf, then this wine will take you to the hall of fame and offer you the best this region has to offer! The wine is still arguably a bit too young to drink. The nose had hints of licorice, chalk, but also red fruits like berries and raspberries. A very good balance between mouth and nose. What struck me in the mouth was the immediate sweet note, but it was not bothersome or overcooked; afterwards, there was still some acidity behind it, which sounds contradictory, but it's true... If you can eat this with roasted meat or something powerful, you're going to enjoy it so much. Maybe I'm missing some finesse , but i'm being difficult :)

We had left our wine glasses standing all evening, and after 4-5 hours, the nose of La Turque was the most present, the most prominent, having lost almost none of its power. Even the Homage 2012 from J Perrin had to bow down to the LT. The nose had beautiful alcohols, but especially peppers, spicy, very herbal as if full of spices. In the mouth, it had a beautiful acidity, was very long, but I missed the balance of frivolity that it had on the nose; the palate was somewhat monotonous in comparison. It might be that I was drinking it too early, but over the hours, I can't say that it improved!
