Wednesday, May 17, 2023 - Opened in HK. A small glass was very generously shared to me about four hours after opening. Tasted blind.

Aromatics were not quite there after so much breathing, but there were hints of lychee and tea leaves and it was clearly a Pinot from a great producer after tasting it. I thought there were more black fruits than red, which drew me to guess Leroy from the Cotes de Beaune. Fair amount of sediment at the bottom as well, which suggested 90s for me but didn't commit to a vintage.

Turns out it was a '95 DRC GE! Always a pleasure to try, especially when generously shared, but this definitely threw me off a little bit. Still lots of structure, I thought, even if the stemmy aromatics and Vosne spice weren't quite there by the time I tasted it.

Unsure of upside, and not the greatest DRC - but a treat nonetheless.
