Friday, June 16, 2023 - Had to bust out the magnetic pill stirrer and use it for about 30 minutes here after decanting. Had really good maroon color with a hint of brown on the meniscus. Nose seemed to be quite usual for Brunello with a distinctly old world character. On the palate, QUITE locked up. Red figs and tobacco leaf. Medium bodied edging to full bodied. Finished with a little bit of black pepper and stiff neutral oak. It needs probably 5 to 10 years on its side but woke up decently with the forced decant.
