Monday, December 18, 2023 - This particular bottle was very different from my previous bottles, which I have enjoyed. This one was off. It was not flawed but was definitely not good.

Ultra low TCA does this. VA if you're not sensitive to it.

A tough grade might make some wake up to issues going on in the cellar - group grades be damned.

12/21/2023 1:38:00 PM - Someone seems to be overly but unnecessarily concerned about group scores. Statistics tells us to throw out the high and the low. But, more importantly, CellarTracker is not a place for group think. It is a place for the expression of individual experiences with many of the world’s wines.
Let us relish those experiences. I certainly do.

12/21/2023 3:04:00 PM - Currently holding this wine so interested in the community average score and drinking window opinion. Vested interest declared, I think the broader discussion of scoring off/flawed/not good bottles is important. If I am looking to invest my hard earned in a case of wine, I want to know whether it’s worth my money or not. Only scoring the good bottles skews the average, therefore giving me (the purchaser) an overly high confidence in that case’s VFM. If 1 out of 6 bottles is undrinkable (for whatever reason) I would feel justifiably aggrieved. Similarly, redacting “off” bottles lets the producer off the hook. They should be seeking to deliver maximum aggregate value to the end consumer not aiming for a max score with only the “good” bottles. Thoughts?

12/25/2023 6:02:00 PM - I have consumed 3 bottles out of 12 of this wine. Only one bottle was off. I have had bottles of wine that were off, including Spottswoode, Margaux and Lafite in one night.
Patience.
Paul Jaboulet is a very good producer, but sometimes things do happen.

2/21/2024 4:19:00 AM - The average (arithmetic mean) score from 21 scores on this wine, at the date of this comment, is 89.7. The median score is 92. I see CT is showing me the median as main visible score for this wine, but it shows me the average for adjacent vintages. Raises a question why. Labrador's 65 pt rating for this one bottle contributes 1.2 pts of the difference between the median and the mean.
