Saturday, January 20, 2024 - Friend brought this to dinner as he knows my cellar is (for whatever reason) Burgundy deficient. One-hour splash decant with some sediment in the bottle. During decant, a mild floral aroma sprang forth. Wine was clear; translucent ruby with no apparent bricking. After resting, nose was not that Burgundian but was still quite nice: lots of raspberry and cranberry, earth and toast. The mouth was similar to the nose, and Grenache-like in how deep the flavors were. As the night went on, the raspberry yielded to the cranberry supported by dark earth and vanilla on a moderate finish. Not the most Burgundian wine, but very very enjoyable!
