She got some wine -- although not what she ordered (Italian wines) -- but she got some champagne and White Burgundy wines, which appear to be of greater value than what she ordered. Sic. It is shocking to get the wrong wines delivered, as that would never happen in the past. I used to buy from Sherry Lehman but not since I moved out of NYC in 2002 - which was still the old owners.   11/9/2021 4:27:00 PM - I look for a writer who describes the wine and gives a guess as to the ageing potential. I try to figure out when to test bottles from my cellar. I understand that some people like their wines very young and fruit forward. I prefer mine in the middle of the drinking plateau or 2/3 of the way along the drinking plateau. I reevaluate drinking ranges every year based on new tasting notes. I still struggle going to release tastings and trying to figure out the path. I adjust my course regularly.
