Friday, October 23, 2009 - Decanted and served immediately. In the glass, dark red fading gently to orange at the rim, slightly opaque. On the nose, an utterly pure aroma of dark ripe cherries. On the palate, silky texture with more cherries, and subtle notes of pinot spice; the tannins have almost completely melted away. This is a relatively one-dimensional fruit-driven wine, but what fruit it is. The remaining tannins will be resolved within the next year, but if you're feeling like you need an RRV fruit fix, no worries if you open it right now.
