Saturday, January 15, 2011 - I've been sipping this wine all night trying to find any hint of what John Gilman says is botrytis and notes of pineapple but I can definitively say he is drinking from a different batch of bottles than I've got. This wine has barely budged since I last tasted it several years ago. It is a fairly large-scaled Butteaux with classic lemon/lime and oyster shell flavors. The finish is stinging with intensity and fresh acidity but it is clearly holding back a lot and still needs time to develop. Very well poised for a long and lovely evolution. 92+
