Monday, June 6, 2011 - Dark ruby-purple, extremely youthful. Initially a restrained, lactic nose that opened up gradually, revealing dark cherries, liquorice, chocolate and vanilla. The lactic tones did not disappear completely, and the nose remained somewhat restrained until the end. Medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins, good fruit and balancing acidity. Medium minus aftertaste. This is considered as an iconic greek red, and while its youth is impressive given its age, it is not that impressive overall, let down by the poor quality of its tannins, the relatively short aftertaste and its restrained character. Paired nicely with a grilled beef fillet.
