Friday, November 25, 2011 - Chave's portfolio tasting: This is a brilliant Hermitage Blanc from Chave and the Hermitage Rouge is overwhelming by it. Lovely aromatic profile with layer and layer of almond, honey suckle, lemon, pear, mineral, crush stone all wrapped in a absolutely complex, polished, creamy package. Superb rich and concentrated yet with lively acid backbone to support. Wonderful balance with great focus and precision. Oily texture that gently coated the mouth with rich yellow fruits. When its move on to the finished, it turned a bit dry like a sherry which loaded with mineral, sea shell, sea breeze as well as bitter orange peel aftertaste. This is insanely good, delicious with endless finish. 93-94+
