Likes this wine:

91 Points

Thursday, February 20, 2014 - My cousin told me at least one year ago, that he disliked this wine for being too thin. By then I had no opportunity to make my own opinion.

Now I did - and i really like this lower-pedigree-Burgundy a lot.
The color is quite dark and the wine smells dominantly of black cherries, a little sweat and iron. With only a couple minutes some nice sweetness emerges.
And this is the theme in the mouth. Sweet dark cherries. Lots of power (!) without weight. Purity. Round texture. Resolved tannins. Only a little too upfront alcohol.
But, hey, we are talking about an Auxey-Duresses, that sells for a meager EUR 20-25, not a lot in today's Burgundy.
In my view, this is a terrific value. You don't need to accompany it with food, it works on its own and is perfectly ready now.
