Sunday, July 20, 2014 - Finally got around to tasting this wine, thanks SPK for bringing over your last bottle to share. Bit puzzled why there are so few users of this wine in the database here. Opened a day prior, tasting tonight after the wine was simply left under open cork in the fridge. This is a little different that I was expecting. As Indiscriminate mentions in his recent note, there is a creaminess here, and to me it comes off more like a fuller weight wine, bigger shouldered, a plusher core that reminds me of melon. Contrasting that core, there is some lemon that rings the edges and some tart apple. These two contasts create for me a wine that I can't quite get my head around, unsettled. To be fair, this wine seems to have worked fine for those who wrote it up thus far, yet for me, leaves me a bit disappointed.
