This is like a Goldilocks wine - I can't imagine anyone disliking this. Everything is "just right" with this: -good weight, but not too heavy -nicely balanced, with enough acidity to keep it fresh but not screechy -soft mouthfeel, but not thick with glycerin -good depth, but not too much fruit -middle-of-the-road California flavor profile, but not buttery CA
Yes, perhaps not enough acidity to please the "acid freaks" and maybe not distinct enough to exhibit "terroir", but this is damn good juice, well made California chardonnay.

13.5% abv. 170 cases. Recent auction purchase. Don't drink a lot of Chardonnay, but this was a really lovely, balanced, energetic bottle that really showed off the fruit with a complex array of textures and flavors. Lighter than I expected from a Paso white, actually, lacked a touch in depth but was still very pleasing. Not as impressive as the Wind Gap Woodruff that I also picked up on WineBid, but very good and in a good spot right now.

This interesting chardonnay presents a nose of grasses, white pepper, and matchstick with lemon and almond across the palate. Surprisingly full bodied considering the flavor profile.

So good! Love the salted almond, lemon curd and zest lime aromas. Pure and zesty on the palate with limes, apricot, tossed with saline, white tea, raw almonds. I love the contrast between salinity and minerality, with some almond and apple pie spice. Delicious.

I put a cup of this in the soup pot last night, but did not get around to tasting it until tonight. Given how tight it is now I can only imagine that it was pretty well wound up when I opened it. Melon and pear fruit are complimented by a hint of back palate spice. The lingering note is more towards citrus, with ample acidic cut. Quite nice.

Liked this. On the leaner side, no overt oak, nice soft lemon with acid to balance. A little reserved out of the bottle but after 20-30 min. Did not get much from the nose but served pretty chilled (fridge temp) at the outset.

Oddly enough, this has a similar lees/smoke/honey quality to the Trousseau gris that preceded it, but as you swirl and swish it gains in Chardonnay-ness and is really very pretty in an old-school, soil-driven sort of way, with a charming softness and an intriguing cherry note.

Crisp and lean as California Chardonnay goes. Mineral, citrus and whatever the spice was that my mother put in her apple pies. But there is also good body and weight. I like it a lot and it is a screaming value.

I think previous reviews paint very fair picture. I do not have enough excitement to buy another bottle and hold for few years but I think this is what this wine needs.

Very stern/minerally for a California Chardonnay. Rounder than say a Chablis, but definitely in that mold. Crunchy fruit, steel and a finishing brightness that totally cleans up the palate. Very nice.

Finally got around to tasting this wine, thanks SPK for bringing over your last bottle to share. Bit puzzled why there are so few users of this wine in the database here. Opened a day prior, tasting tonight after the wine was simply left under open cork in the fridge. This is a little different that I was expecting. As Indiscriminate mentions in his recent note, there is a creaminess here, and to me it comes off more like a fuller weight wine, bigger shouldered, a plusher core that reminds me of melon. Contrasting that core, there is some lemon that rings the edges and some tart apple. These two contasts create for me a wine that I can't quite get my head around, unsettled. To be fair, this wine seems to have worked fine for those who wrote it up thus far, yet for me, leaves me a bit disappointed.

Tasted a month ago.. I can say that is is more on the linear side with great bitter citrus rind and minerals.. I can't decide if I should wait on the 2nd bottle or drink.. i think I will wait another year or 2.. Love it

TTTG Blind (very brief notes) (Enfield): Steely, slightly creamy texture, bitter orange, medium finish; tasted blind and was uncertain between a more modernist Burg or Napa. Good.

After about 3 hours in the decanter the aromas of this built up to showcase a lot of white florals, melons, and stone. Definitely a sleek and cool Chardonnay, this is about a pure an expression of Chardonnay from the Central Coast as I've had. Great balance, and nice depth. Great value.

I have become a big fan of these Chardonnays. Full of lemony flavors, short on oak. While these fly under the radar, the pricing is fabulous for the quality. But I suspect it won't last...

Chardonnay Shootout & Dinner at Sun Wah (Domaine Wine Storage & Sun Wah - Chicago, IL): Sleek and clean I'm used to fruit from James Berry to be powerful, robust and tropical. Much more of a chablis-type character with some saline notes, lemon, pears and minerals. Very good.
