Tuesday, September 2, 2014 - Blend of 70% Cab, 18% PV, 12% Syrah. Consumed over several hours, was best at 3 hours. Rich and layered with some structure and pronounced use of oak treatment. Bouquet of dark berry fruit, leather, tobacco and oak in the early going; later picked up notes of black cherry and hints of earthy and herbaceous tones underneath. Full-bodied with notes of cassis, anise, tobacco and hint of chocolate on the palate. Tannins were soft and velvety, low acidity, and ending with a dry medium finish with a little heat.
