Blend of 70% Cab, 18% PV, 12% Syrah. Consumed over several hours, was best at 3 hours. Rich and layered with some structure and pronounced use of oak treatment. Bouquet of dark berry fruit, leather, tobacco and oak in the early going; later picked up notes of black cherry and hints of earthy and herbaceous tones underneath. Full-bodied with notes of cassis, anise, tobacco and hint of chocolate on the palate. Tannins were soft and velvety, low acidity, and ending with a dry medium finish with a little heat.

Gave it 2 hours of air. Nose of alcohol, baking spice, perfume. Palate of red fruit, spice, and oak. The alcohol somewhat overpowered the nose and palate. Towards the end, the fruit turned jammy, as found in heavy syrah.

Taste at Prime at Jeff Good's party. Nice medium body showing surprising restraint for the alcohol level and style of the winery. Medium black and dark red cherries, cocoa nibs and some touches of meat. Balanced palate. Nice wine.

Popped & poured. Black purple, med to full bodied. Initially tight, big fruit & alcohol, eventually opened up. Had lots going on nose/taste with the Cab Sauv, PV & Syrah. Still coming together, needs more time. Will hold other bottle. Possible higher score with age.

Hanging with Mike Hirby (Sbicca, Del Mar, CA): Popped and poured. Deep purple color. Thick and rich, legs gripping the glass and refusing to let go. Nice mix of fruit, earth and floral components.

Lucious fruit, with mild tanins. drank over 3 hours and was best in the first and second hour suprisingly. Great bottle. Had with roasted rack of veal.

Not as good as last bottle. Disjointed with a confusing back mouthfeel. I'm going with an off bottle.

Pop & pour, drank over 45 min., no formal notes, though was very nice. Maybe needed a touch more time to reveal more.

Wow this is so good , no notes, but Mike Hirby hit it out of the park with this one. So balanced and half the price of the Realm wine that Mike Makes.
