Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - What an amazing white wine. Jefferson was right: Hermitage makes the world's best white wines, and maybe reds too. Rich and almost thick in the glass, with a stunning golden color and a nose that just pulls you in: golden gooseberries, honeyed spice cake, creme caramel. Dry, yet lively with lifting acidity... The fruit is somehow ripe and rich, but not heavy. Ends with an endless and amazing finish that coats the palate. Drinking well now and will hold for years (then eventually should close down, but reopen at age 25 or so in a new form...). I have 4 more and it won't be enough!
