Thursday, November 12, 2015 - Chateau Montrose 2005: Ripe blackcurrants, mint leaves intermingled with leathery hide. Cigar box notes come to mind with also a hint of toasty oak. The wine is juicy on the entry with enigmatic light footed fruits, vanillin and camphor on the finish. Still grainy tannins, but overall great balance of fruit and acidity. Approachable now but could and should be left to evolve over the next decade or so. #sommelier #montrose
