Monday, April 4, 2016 - Weekly tasting group #208; Old world 2006; an overview. (@ VD): Beautiful and luxurious bouquet with dark forest fruits, cedar, sweet spices and some floral notes. On the palate a slightly sweet start of ripe dark forest fruits, graphite, salty licorice, chocolate and laurel. Firm acidity tannin and bitterness. In this stage the wine is starting to show its merits, but it needs another 5+ years in the bottle to show more finesse. This is a firm wine with a good length! For my own reference; it reminded me of a good Clerc Milon – Pauillac. 93+
