90 Points

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 - Light rose petal color. Smells of roses, earth, pickles, lambic beer, black tea. Focused, almost intense acidity on the palate, the tannins are soft but provide just enough structure. Tart strawberries and wild strawberries, but the non-fruit elements rule: tobacco, earth, herbal tea, rhubarb, anise, herbs and roses. Finishes with flavors that I will call tar and sour patch kids. I realize that sounds ridiculous and idiotic, but this is crazy stuff and I love it. 11.5% alcohol, 60% Pinot Noir, 29% Poulsard and 11% Trousseau.
